One of Nashville's quickest up-and-coming rappers, Ron Obasi, is our featured artist this week. Last year was a huge one for him with the release of multiple large scale projects, but he's already on the way to make 2022 even bigger. These "Little Miss Mamas" are names you're sure to know if you really know Nashville's RnB scene. Bella Moon and Queen of the Vibes are women who deliver perfectly strong, confident, and steamy vibes every. single. time. Individually, their music is reflective of their experiences and crafts a particular environment depending on the song, making them almost cinematic. But together, their voices blend and float around your ears so well you forget they aren't actually a power duo.

They write music about longing, about being too scared for therapy, about loss and nostalgia, and music for when you're just trying. It's the perfect amount of angsty adult and whimsical youth that you want in an artist like them. This song has meant so much to us in the evolution of our relationship. Few people can capture the truth of what it’s like to deeply love another person. It’s not always pretty or tidy. Sometimes you hate each other and then in a split second can be reminded of why you fell in love in the first place. Only Prine can write a song like this. He’s the only person who can use “sniffing my undies” and “more balls than a big brass monkey” and convey the essence of deep, lasting love.
What this song means to me is that with all the reaching for dreams, and chasing the endless goals and successes of life, what really counts is making it through with someone. When it’s all said and done you had the pot of gold all along because you did all the chasing alongside your best friend. Someone who really got you. Who saw your flaws and your weird, gross habits and still said, “Yea. I choose her.”
