This is why affordable housing is so important. A young family moved to tears today as they were randomly selected during a lottery for first time homeowners at 80% AMI.

According to Zillow, the average home value in Rhode Island is over $465,000.

For many, that price tag is unobtainable, especially for young families and young professionals.

It’s collaborations like this one with NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley that are having immediate impacts and changing lives.

It is days like these that make all of the work done behind the scenes worth it.

When Syracuse opened the Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater it brought something new and exciting to an already incredible city. It brought performers like Dave Matthews, Post Malone, and Pitbull to a city otherwise only known for Syracuse University and the New York State Fair and had an unbelievable impact for local business, it brought in new businesses.

I’m excited to see not only what this could bring to East Providence but the positive impacts it could bring to the state as a whole.

After seeing firsthand what a waterfront concert venue can do for a city, it’s hard not to have a positive outlook on the possibilities.

While the original plan was to open the outdoor amphitheater in 2024, Mayor Bob DaSilva tells 12 News the project is “moving along.”

I’ve taken a step back on social media but waking up to this news was FANTASTIC!!👏👏👏 So many families across Rhode Island have fought vigorously for stricter DUI laws and while this is just the first step, it’s the first major change to DUI legislation in decades.

Speak with the family and loved ones of any victim of drunk driving for just 2 minutes and you’ll understand why there is absolutely no reason to ever get behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The legislation would push the lookback period from five to 10 years, meaning law enforcement would be able to see whether a driver has been charged with driving under the influence or has refused …

The movie will be filmed here with 2 A-list celebrities playing leads. Another major win for the Rhode Island film industry!
