Chris’s log - A SGI Volunteer Firefighter and First Responder

Chris’s log - A SGI Volunteer Firefighter and First Responder **Emergency issues please contact "911"** To inform the public as to the activity of the Fire Department on the beautiful island of St. George, Florida. TOUGH!!

Again ***If you have an emergency, in our piece of paradise, contact "911"***

This page was created primarily as a fire blotter. All information on this page can be obtained through public records (i.e. sheriff's department information, news outlets, etc..) All the information above is still true I just have to put this disclaimer in:

At no time am I representing the fire department or first r

esponders of St. George Island. This page is still for informational purposes. Now I get to ask my fellow firefighters For meetings at places to study. Now,”I” have the only say about what goes on this page. There will be no negativity. If you have a complaint about my department (as a firefighter it is mine) then send it to the official web page. All pictures are always allowed. But, there are limitations:
1) they can be of fire department equipment and fire personnel.
2)pictures can be of the address that is in public record with the sheriff’s office. (Second amendment)
3)They can not be of a patient or persons in the care of Franklin County EMS or SGI first responders or firefighters. (H.I.P.P.A.) If you read an address and know the person that lives there, feel free to contact them. But, we can not put that information here on this page. If you are found in violation of this rule you will be banned and your information removed. We can talk about anything fire/EMS related. We will not discuss:
1) Politics
2) Religion
3) The latest rumor about my department or anything negative about my department. (See above)

Last but not least. If your feelings are hurt about our discussions on this page. I couldn’t say that when I was officially representing the fire department. A dispatch log will look like this:

01/01/22 - 880 E. Pine - back pain
Or
01/01/22 - 880 E. Pine - Possible Structure Fire

That is all the information that can be released (by law). Again I created this page because I am proud of my first-responders and firefighters (I work with them so they are mine). I want the rest of the world to see how good these volunteers are. Plus, we get our funds by the public. Isn’t it nice to see you getting your money’s worth. Now enjoy.

A true Band of Brothers ( and Sisters)

08/27/2024

For people who don’t know me.
I’m Chris.
I was, at one time, a volunteer firefighter with St George Island.
I wholeheartedly support my (because I live on the island) fire department.
If you have a complaint about them, don’t come running to me because I’ll put you in your place.
I have been asked politely and correctly to change the name of this page.
I have tried repeatedly over the last two days.
So please it is not the chief’s fault. He has asked me and I’m still trying.
When I change the name and hit enter nothing happens. I am working on it.

Today, we honor the memory of St. George Island Volunteer Firefighter Brian Stephen Smith on the 4th anniversary of his death.

Brian died in the line of duty on August 25, 2020, while responding to a distressed family of swimmers off the coast of St. George Island in the Gulf of Mexico. He will always be remembered for his many years of service on the SGI VFD and his contributions to the entire St. George Island community.

Please take a moment to read Brian’s profile on the Roll of Honor page of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation website, and renew your commitment to knowing and obeying the beach flags when you are near the water.

Read this carefully…….
I used to delete people who didn’t interact with me but then I became more selective of the folks I accepted as friends.
Here’s a test.
If you’re reading this, LIE about how we met. Then put this on your wall so I can leave one, but then again noone seems to follow directions!
