When Noelle was born, doctors told her young father, Ben, who had Down syndrome, that he wouldn’t be able to raise a child.

That he wouldn’t understand feeding schedules.

That he wouldn’t know how to comfort a crying baby.

That he wouldn’t be enough.

But Ben didn’t listen.

He held his newborn close, kissed her forehead, and whispered,

“I may not know everything… but I know how to love you.”

And love her he did.

Ben fed her with shaking hands, learned lullabies by humming, and rocked her every night until the sun rose. He worked part-time folding napkins at a local diner — saving every penny for Noelle’s future.

His first symptoms started about a year and a half before diagnosis, when he noticed weakness in his right hand. As of mid-2025, the disease has progressed significantly:His right side (arm, hand) has completely stopped working. His left arm is still functioning but weakening. He has expressed concern that in a few months he may lose function of his left hand too. Despite the diagnosis, he has tried to remain active, especially with work. He planned to return to set for the third season of Euphoria. He also has publicly expressed gratitude for his family’s support. Emotionally, he has spoken about how waking up every day presents reminders of the disease. He has said it is “not a dream,” acknowledging the emotional weight of realizing how life is changing. He has also expressed a strong resolve: he says, “I’m fighting as much as I can,” and that he doesn’t feel this is the end of his story.
Eric Dane’s public sharing of his ALS diagnosis has both raised awareness about how brutal and life-altering the disease can be, and also shown his courage. We found her in a lonely place, weak and very thin. She had no food or water, yet the moment she saw us, she came closer as if asking for help.

Despite everything, she was gentle and affectionate. We named her Victoria, because she was still fighting, still holding on.

Her health was fragile, her skin damaged, but her spirit remained strong. She wagged her tail, looked at us with love, and ate every meal with gratitude.

At the vet, she received treatment, special baths, and medication. What she needs most now is care, patience, and love.

Victoria loves playing with a ball, even early in the morning, and she now has a new coat of fur and a brighter life.

She will never be lonely again. She will never go hungry again. She finally has a real home—filled with love and dignity.
