*Disclosure: We do not guarantee hatch rates of any eggs due to too many factors out of our control. Hedemora and BCM can be harder to hatch.
We have ran test hatches on all breeds, however, we are currently have a lower hatch rate than we would like our of our Hedemora and WTB (about 70%), so we are making these these a significantly lower rate to reflect that.

Going into lockdown!

Update of around the homestead:
We appreciate the well wishes for our goat. Sara is still not doing well, but has been able to continue care at home. There is not an exact diagnoses, but our vets have been amazing and have done everything they can for her. Other than continued meds, the rest is up to her. We just hope she will return to having a quality of life.

We have also lost one of our oldest hens during this time. She lived a long and happy life beyond her life expectancy. May she rest peacefully catching all the bugs. 🙏

⭐️On the brighter side of things, I've been working on finishing these cute little muslin bags to go with multiple-item orders and possibly doing some tea baths. When i can find some time I will be adding more products as well.

Please excuse our social media absence.
We currently have an ill goat that needs around the clock care at the moment. Which means little sleep for us, running at significantly less brainpower, and taking about 15-20mins out of every hour to care for her. She is slowly improving, but still in a delicate place.

Between this, chicks we already had hatched and our everyday things and animals, our plates are overflowing. Until our plate is cleared a little, we will not be very present on social media.

On that note, we have about 10 BBS Jersey Giant chicks (1 week old) available for local pickup only.

No Wednesday Herb Spotlight post today. I decided to try out some hatching liners that came with my incubator, and now I have a some splayed leg chicks im trying to correct and nuture. I knew the liner didnt feel right and should have listened to myself, ill definitely go back to my regular liners. On the bright side, most of the chicks hatched are completely fine and doing great.

Due to this, I have not had a moment to sit down with my books to prepare a post.

I will also be setting a test hatch for our BCM and WTB later next week.

Happy Friday!
I've had something on my mind this morning that i want to open up discussion about, AI (google, chatgbt, etc).

Now I know alot of people are against AI, but this is to be a discussion not an argument. Until recently, I have never used any of these programs and honestly didnt even know how to, but now I have used it a handful of times to help me format MY info. Sure, sometimes it makes suggestions that is either more visually pleasant or recommendations on how to rephrase something, sometimes I use the recommendations and sometimes I dont. I do not use AI images, with the exception of the logo my husband had created for our other page.

I personally am not overly fond of AI simply because it's a slippery slope,but it can be useful for people who are not very good at organizing their info in a way that others can understand. I don't find anything wrong with using it as a tool to make things clear and easy to read, as well as visually appealing and attention catching.

What is your take on it? Is it ever ok to use? Why or why not?

Once again, this needs to be a discussion. No need for any rude or degrading comments (im hoping no one on here would do that).
