โ€ฆannnnd THATโ€™S A WRAP on 2025! Stay tuned for a VERY SPECIAL end-of-the-year episode of Nyob Zoo Ramsey County! ๐ŸŽฌ

Our cultural media program was created to inform our Hmong community about county services, programs, and resources, and to do so through trusted voices from within the county and our own community. While our guests share pieces of their journeys, the focus has always been on clear, accessible information and public service.

In just six months after our debut, we saw a 200% increase in Hmong residents visiting one of our service centers.

In just one year, because of the community's support, this show has reached nearly 400,000 views!

Along the way, our program has also been recognized at both the state and national levels, which we see as a reflection of the community stories and voices at the heart of this work.

None of this happens alone. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

I am forever grateful to 3HBC, especially Mitch Lee and Yau Muas for believing in this vision from day one!

Thank you to Rose Lindsay, Casper Hill, our entire Communications and Public Relations team, and everyone at Ramsey County, Minnesota for continuing to support me while building this thing from the ground up. The vision was always rooted in culture, language access, and honoring our Hmong community with intention and respect.

This episode, featuring returning guests Eh Alex Vue, Mai Xiong Vang, and Mike Hang, was a celebration of 50 years of Hmong people in America, of public service, of identity, and of the stories that connect us across generations. We are just a few Hmong voices at Ramsey County, and cannot wait for you all to hear from more of us!

So much gratitude for the community that shows up for its own! โค๏ธ Peb yog Hmoob!

This past Sunday filled my whole heart. ๐Ÿ’—

I had the honor of helping produce and coordinate a beautiful film shoot with Devin Phaly and Vivian Tran from Fillet Studios for their campaign โ€œMade with Love.โ€

This project is all about connection, intention, and the feeling of being welcomed into a place; the same feeling you get when someone cooks for you with real love.

Iโ€™m grateful to bring my storytelling work through The Social X Change Project into collaborations like this. The creativity, the community energy, the purpose behind every hard working person in front of and behind the camera is why I do what I do!

So much love to everyone who poured into this shoot! The professionalism, passion, and creative genius behind every person on set was good vibes only.

A reflection for Veterans Day.

Both my grandfathers fought in wars and never got the recognition they deserved. And for the last 50 years, thatโ€™s been the story for so many Hmong and Lao veterans who fought alongside the U.S. during the Secret War in Laos.

Minnesota just passed a historic law officially recognizing Hmong and Lao soldiers for their service. The acknowledgement, validation, and honor that their sacrifices mattered. Because these Veterans carried stories most of us will never fully understand, and because of them, we are here today.

If you know a Hmong or Lao veteran, please take a moment to thank them. Ask about their story. Let them know theyโ€™re seen and cared for, while theyโ€™re still here to hear it.

Big thanks to Christina Rost from Ramsey County, Ben Johnson from the State, and Anny Vang for continuing to make sure veterans and their families get the recognition theyโ€™ve long deserved.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Tonightโ€™s Qhia Dab Neeg Film Festival event by In Progress "On Screen, On Air: Hmong in Television," was such a beautiful reminder of how far weโ€™ve come!

โ€œThis yearโ€™s festival celebrates 50 years of Hmong storytelling; five decades of filmmaking and community media that have carried our stories from refugee camps to homes here in Minnesota, and to screens around the world.โ€

Tonightโ€™s conversation, moderated by Hlee Lee featured true trailblazers whose work has shaped how Hmong stories are seen and heard:

๐ŸŽฅ Senator Foung Hawj โ€“ Producer of Kev Koom Siab, the first Hmong television program in Minnesota
๐ŸŽฅ Mitch Lee & Yau Muas โ€“ 3HMONGTV | 3HBC
๐ŸŽฅ Zoua Vang โ€“ The first Hmong news anchor on mainstream TV

Listening to them share their journeys reminded me how deeply important it is that we tell our own stories, from OUR own lived experiences! Media is so freaking powerful, and we MUST continue to occupy space within it.

Iโ€™m humbled and deeply grateful to be in the same room as them and many others who have paved the way for us all. We owe so much to them who took risks and opened doors so we could have the freedom to create, express, and belong in this space.

Thank you to my loves Red Red and Yengyee Lor for going with me. What a night to remember!!! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝโค๏ธ

It's been one week since we wrapped up an amazing music project! Grateful to be one of the producers for .kayyy music video! ๐ŸŽฌ๐Ÿ’–

It was so fun working with 30+ insanely talented creatives from the director and his team ; to the other assistant producer .cih, to the set assistants, all hair and makeup artists, stylists, lighting, food, set designers, choreography by and dancers, models, and everyone behind the scenes making things work! Every single person hand chosen by Kalina brought so much passion and creativity.

Kalina not only wrote, produced and recorded her song but also organized choreography, and thought through every single detail from hair and makeup to outfits and the whole creative vision with all the right people. Her dedication and heart is inspiring!

So much love and appreciation to for hosting us and to everyone who made the day so fun. I cannot wait for you all to see the magic that was created! โœจ

We won an award! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

Iโ€™m honored to share that Ramsey County, Minnesota and 3HmongTV received the 2025 Northern Lights Award from the Minnesota Association of Government Communicators in the DEI category for our TV show โ€œNyob Zoo Ramsey County," which recognizes outstanding work in government communications.

Ramsey County launched its first-ever in-language Cultural and Community Media pilot program, partnering with 3HBC to help lessen communication gaps with our richly diverse communities.

Our first episode aired in October 2024, spotlighting the incredible work of our Hmong Navigators and Service Centers. In just the first six months, the series gained over 100,000 views across all broadcast platforms. Today, weโ€™ve surpassed 200,000 total views! A true testament to the power of inclusive, culturally rooted media.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ Thank you to Ramsey County, Mitch Lee at 3HmongTV, and every single person who helped pave the way for community and cultural media. This award is for all of us!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE being in community with these women. It meant the world to be able to host and moderate a Talkback for SIXPACK, a play by Katie Ka Vang that focused on community healing, cultural identity, intergenerational experiences, and complex relationships. The way each woman held space for one another, and the engagement of the audience formulated a conversation worth having in every room.

Thank you to playwright, Katie Ka Vang, guest panelist State Representative Kaohly Vang Her, and the cast Dorothy Vang, Ashley Horiuchi, Phasoua Vang, and Pagnia Xyooj for the depth, stories, perspectives, and brilliance you brought onto the stage. So many moments of learning for me, and I'm forever grateful to be sharing space with each of you.

Thank you to one of my most cherished friends, Dani Adele, for being my date to the show and always supporting and loving me. You're so important to me! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

Huge shout-out to Christina Baldwin, Isa Tejeda, Alison Ruth, Miranda Shunkwiler, and everyone else at The Jungle Theater for this partnership and collaboration. SIXPACK means so much to so many of us, and being able to experience it three times this month still brought me to tears and made me laugh out loud every time.

For those interested, don't snooze. You'll never get to see it again, and trust me...you won't regret it if you go. But you will if you don't! SIXPACK ends this week!!
