Psalm 143:8
Just a little morning devotion time turned songwriting this morning…
Have you ever come to a place where you realize you’ve been off the rails, doing your own thing, making your own plans and find yourself wondering where God is?
The truth is God never left…He’s been right there all along in faithfulness and patience and love.
It’s in these times I’ve been broken hearted over my sin and my rebellious heart…just crying for a “do-over!” But to see the morning, I need to surrender to His will. He is faithful and true, but I have to trust Him and seek him every morning.

Thanks to my other half Brian, my wonderful daughters Baylie, Amelia, and Jackie, and my son Wyatt, I am here and set up at LNI. Baylie made ribbon skirts, scrunchies and stockings, Amelia made the stars for almost every quilt pictured, Jackie sewed scrunchies and Wyatt cut diamonds. Without my family, I couldn’t do these events!

Last night we listened to this song and there were so many things that jumped out at me in this.
That this wasn’t just a chance encounter but an all day experience. From the dew on the roses to though the night may be falling.
That spending time with Jesus should be our focus throughout the day.
That what Jesus has to say should be what we listen to, not the distractions around us.
That we should have His voice in our hearts always.
That if we trust in Him, He will be with us every step.
That spending time with Jesus should be our joy.
That we can become so focused on Him that nothing else matters.
When I did some research on this song, I found it was written by a pharmacist turned hymn writer, but that he wrote this from Mary Magdalene perspective. Someone who Jesus saved from who knows what wanting to spend every waking moment with Jesus.
