Save this for the PERFECT one-day road trip around the Di**le Peninsula 🇮🇪🌊🐑
We started in Di**le and spent the day making our way around the iconic Slea Head Drive — and genuinely, every turn somehow gets prettier.
📍 Di**le Town — start here and follow Slea Head Drive clockwise.
☕ Éalú at The Stonehouse — first priority: coffee. And honestly, you could sit here staring at the views all morning.
🦀 Dobey’s Crab Food Truck — you HAVE to stop for one of their fresh local crab sandwiches. Fresh crab, toasted roll, eaten on the side of the road overlooking the Atlantic… 10/10 Ireland experience.
🐑 Hold a Baby Lamb — possibly my favorite €5 we spent the entire trip 😂 We literally pulled over, paid a few euro and got to cuddle the sweetest little baby lambs. There are also ancient beehive huts here you can check out!
🌊 Coumeenoole Beach + Dunmore Head — one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline on the entire drive. Coumeenoole is absolutely stunning, and right beside it is Dunmore Head, where scenes from Star Wars: The Last Jedi were filmed. If you’re a Star Wars fan, this whole stretch is a MUST.
🚗 Then just… DRIVE. Take the little roads. Pull into the viewpoints. Stop when you see something beautiful. Half the magic of Slea Head is everything you find between the “official” stops.
🍺 An Bóthar Pub — finish with lunch at this cozy little pub in Cuas, surrounded by the Kerry countryside. Exactly the kind of Irish pub lunch you want after a day on the road.
Then make your way back into Di**le and congratulate yourself on having one of the most ridiculously scenic days ever. 🇮🇪
