Finally got the work done on this secondhand Fender Stratocaster that i’ve been playing. I got it for an astonishingly low price thanks to and at Bookmans where it came over the trade counter. I think of it as a thank you for doing media coverage of the Bookmans walk out that happened about a month ago. And yes, that is a Floyd rose tremolo on a Strat! I believe it was a limited run of Mexican-made Fenders.

It plays like a gem and I haven’t been able to go a day without playing it (hence why the repair work took so long to get done I guess).

Had to get the pickups tightened, Floyd blocks replaced, and I had a ‘pop-in’ whammy bar arm installed.

I’ve been playing guitar since ~2nd grade and I can safely say I’m probably at the best I’ve been. I’ve been learning plenty of SRV, Joe Walsh, Molly Hatchet, and other twangy classics.

Sunday drive to Steamboat Chapter, Navajo Nation for work today.

Had an elder Navajo lady tell me today that “if you’re here you’re part of us” so that was nice.

This job can be a lot sometimes but it feels like I’m making the world a better place sometimes

After much anticipation, the Lenox Crater Trail in Sunset Crater National Monument has reopened following the intense wildfires a few years back.

On a previous visit, an old, retired volunteer man on a trail told us this was his favorite trail and was sad that it had to be closed due to the fire-caused erosion.

The charred landscape with the volcanic backdrop was pretty cool to see for the first time since moving here

Crazy how TV/Video-based news is essentially non-existent in Northern Arizona.

For the purposes of documenting this on behalf of the employees, I created this video in an effort to capture their message. Sad how so many stories are left untold simply because the world of journalism is dead and there is no money in keeping people informed anymore. The media sphere is so oversaturated with the same dozen or so stories that people often forget that news happens in their own neighborhoods.

I guess I'll always use my abilities to elevate the voices of the voiceless by creating videos like these.

I can almost guarantee you’ve never seen a high res photo of the Grand Canyon from this angle. Hualapai Canyon as seen from Long Mesa in the Havasupai Reservation. I went there yesterday for work as part of a site visit for the environmental review of a proposed tower that will bring high-speed internet to the most isolated community in North America, Supai Village.

There are no paved roads out here and the Havasupai Tribe has to get their mail via mule on a trail 9-miles away from the nearest parking lot.

I once faced an internal ethical dilemma of the idea of introducing one of the last untouched parts of the country to the terrifying place we call the internet, but it is their decision to make. I’m glad that I’ve been given the opportunity to do my part in this massive undertaking which will involve over 80 kms of fiber optic cable and multiple relay towers throughout the Canyon.

In a few weeks we will be traveling to other sites in the village and the canyon beyond by helicopter. Pretty exciting!

Very rare look at Hualapai (near) and Havasu (far) Canyons from atop Long Mesa, a place where only tribal ranchers and utility consultants are allowed. I had the privilege of traveling to this remote location as part of a site-visit for an environmental review of a proposed tower that will bring high-speed internet to the Havasupai Tribe and the many tourists who visit the famous blue-green waterfalls of Havasu Canyon.

The wash running through the center of the photo is the ~9-mile trail that must be hiked to reach Supai village, the most isolated community in North America, and the falls beyond. Supai village is the only place in America that gets its mail by mule because there are no roads into the canyon.

More photos to come!

Don’t get excited about cinema as often as I used to but you KNOW I had to get an autographed copy of the new Jamin Winans film.

I’ve been obsessed with him and Kiowa Winans movies/music ever since I first saw Ink over 10 years ago.

If you’ve never seen any of these of The Frame, I highly recommend them.

Happy Valentine’s Day to my beautiful, loving WIFE !!! I know the past year has been wild and tough at times but I wouldn’t rather spend it with anyone else! Also, our 6-month anniversary is in 2 days which is crazy! Even though we’ve only been married for that long it feels like we’ve been ‘married’ since forever! I love you so much!!! ❤️
