An Ohio man is facing animal cruelty charges after an incident that reportedly stunned staff at a veterinary clinic. 💔

Richard Orth brought his elderly dog, Tinkerbell, to the clinic to be humanely euthanized due to her declining health. However, while veterinarians were preparing for the procedure, authorities say Orth took matters into his own hands.

According to investigators, he strangled the dog inside the exam room rather than pay the approximately $500 euthanasia fee. Audio recordings reportedly captured him saying, “Go with God. I won’t let you suffer. $500 is highway robbery.”

Tinkerbell suffered severe injuries and was later euthanized by veterinary staff.

Orth has been charged with animal cruelty and could face up to one year in prison if convicted. 😓
