A narcissist will take you to the doctor
to get help for the very issues
they’re causing within you
all while seeking admiration
for how they’ve “always been there for you.”

They present themselves as the devoted partner,
the concerned one, the hero,
while quietly leaving out
how their manipulation, gaslighting, and emotional abuse
created the anxiety, confusion, and distress in the first place.

Behind your back, they smear your name,
planting doubts in the minds of others,
suggesting you’re unstable, difficult, or broken.
That way, if you ever speak the truth,
their version sounds more believable.

It’s a calculated performance
harm you,
play the savior,
and control the narrative
all at the same time.

Christmas Day isn't about pretending everything is okay. It's about remembering who came when it wasn't. Jesus entered a world full of fear, control, oppression, and broken systems-
and He didn't shame the wounded for being wounded.

If you're celebrating today—beautiful.
If you're surviving today—He is still Emmanuel.
God with you in the grief.
God with you in the rebuilding.
God with you in the courage it takes to choose freedom, boundaries, and truth.

This is the miracle of Christmas:
Not that life became perfect-but that Love showed up anyway.

May today remind you that your story is not over, and healing is not only possible-it's promised.

God's daughter. Beloved. Redeemed. Seen.

I want to share that the content and tone of these first episodes were very intentional and created with a specific listener in mind. My avatar is women who are actively coming out of, or have recently left, abusive and coercive relationships — many of whom have experienced spiritual abuse, sexual coercion, and chronic gaslighting within Christian contexts. For that audience, naming the reality plainly (without sensationalizing it) is often the first time they realize they’re not alone and they’re not crazy.

Because of that, I made the deliberate decision to mark these episodes as explicit and include content warnings. That was important to me ethically and personally. I don’t want anyone stumbling into content they’re not ready for — but I do want the women who are silently carrying these experiences to know this space is honest, safe, and grounded in truth.

I completely understand that this style of storytelling and processing may not be comfortable or appropriate for every listener — and that’s okay. This podcast isn’t meant to be broadly appealing or polished in the early episodes; it’s meant to be truthful for a very specific group of women who are still finding language for what they’ve lived through. Later episodes will naturally carry more teaching, integration, and redemptive framing, but I didn’t want to rush past the valley before naming it.
