Looking forward to story time at this awesome in Nicole Magistro’s hometown on October 21!

Mark your calendars! October 21st, North Canton native, Nicole Magistro will be joining us to read and sign her children's book, Read Island.

Join a very brave girl and her furry friends on an adventure to Read Island! Through the power of imagination and the pleasure of reading, this curious trio set sail for a magical island made of books. On their way they discover a joyful collection of animals converging by sea and land, just in time for an unforgettable story hour.

Nicole Magistro attended North Canton City Schools and spent a lot of time riding bikes and hanging out at Dogwood Pool (and the library). Today she is a professional reader and amateur mother who lives in the mountains of Colorado. She owned a bookstore for 15 years, wrote thousands of book reviews, and memorized a few too many bedtime stories. Her favorite place in the world is the real Read Island, which inspired this journey. As an author, Magistro is the winner of the Colorado Book Award, SCBWI Spark Honor, and a finalist for the Reading the West Book Award.

HBD Silas! This 12-year-old studied for and earned his Pleasure Craft Operator Card in Canada just in time for his birthday. He learned safety on the water, emergency preparedness, rules and regulations, and wildlife protection.

I am so proud of him for setting an independent goal, sticking with the online course, taking notes to help visualize the material, and passing the quizzes and final test over three weeks.

Fingers crossed this bodes well for the next big step — middle school!
