Day 3, Part 4: No video recap of today. Today was one of those strategic days. We had gotten to a point where we had some parts to return, some parts to order, and just needed to take a second to smell the flowers. There was progress made, if even a little bit, but we spent the later part of the evening just hanging out, playing ball with Inc and Sebastian helped Uncle Cesar with chores around the yard.

It’s important to breathe.

On Saturday, May 30, at we met Tracy! She did something very special for Sebastian and gifted him his first Sign Name!

In Deaf Culture, only a Deaf/Hard of Hearing person can bestow an individualized Sign that represents your name. Some people go years without being given one. And sometimes they change over time. Name Signs are often symbolic or a characteristic, hobby, or something interesting about that person. It was very fitting, as the video demonstrates, he is captivated by VWs, and most things with wheels.

To be fully transparent, she had given him his Name Sign a couple hours earlier- and Mama didn’t have her phone! So we tried to recreate the moment, and of course, Danny from had something a bit more interesting going on.

Thank you Tracy, for this wonderful gift! This interpreter-Mama had tears!

We are out here at Nomads in the Desert in Scadden Wash. Paul Chapman is out here doing what he does best- spreading love, kindness, and full bellies with his Traveling Samaritan kitchen. He is serving up sausage sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, and 1/2 and full rack of baby back pork ribs. We were fortunate enough to snag some ribs, sausage, and baked beans! Our tummies and souls are blessed. Please save yourself from cooking a meal and help support this amazing man with such an amazing mission. Your tummies and hearts will be grateful!

Skooliepalooza 2026 is a wrap! We had so much fun, as always. Sebastian was up with the sunrise, and down before campfires lit the night sky. We played trucks in the dirt, made new friends, and finally got to play with ones we’d looked up from last year! Thank you to everyone that loved on us! Our true desert fam!

As Buses by the Bridge is coming to a close, we wanted to share something special. We noticed yesterday that our spare tire cover was missing. Saddened that someone in our community would not only steal from someone else, but physically remove it from the actual bus, we shared a post about it, alerting others to be mindful. of gifted us a new tire cover. There are bad apples in every bunch, but we were reminded yet again why the VW family is so awesome. Thanks Zac! We will put it on AFTER buses 🤣❤️
