It’s a special, hallowed day to remember the many who laid down their lives for the sake of security, peace, prosperity, and freedom.

It’s a good day to be thankful for them and for all that we enjoy because of their sacrifice.

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends
John 15:13

𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲

Today is a reminder that Jesus, the Word, came into the very world He created, yet He was not received by many. The One who brought life, truth, and light was rejected, even by His own people. And still, He chose to stay.

When the crowd was given a choice, they chose Barabbas over Jesus. They chose what was familiar, what seemed easier, over the One who came to truly save them.

And if we’re honest, we sometimes do the same; choosing our own way, our comfort, or the things of this world over Him.

But even in rejection, Jesus remained patient and full of love. He did not turn His back on us. He continued His mission, knowing that the cross would bring forgiveness, mercy, and hope to all who would receive Him.

This is the kind of love He has for us.
A love that stays, even when we fall short.
A love that keeps reaching, even when we turn away.

So today, let’s take a moment to reflect. Are there areas in our lives where we are choosing something else over Jesus? Are there things we need to let go of to follow Him more fully?

Today, may we choose Jesus again. Not what is easy, not what is temporary, but the One who loves us, saves us, and never gives up on us. 🙇🏻☝🏻🤍

Have you grown cold in heart, in habits, in hope? Toward your enemies, your friends, your neighbors?

Take that coldness to Jesus Christ. Receive “the abundance of grace” he has to offer (Romans 5:17). Then, consider how you might recover a warmer spirit and walk more closely with him this year.

Scripture reminds us, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). That means His faithfulness didn’t expire at midnight. His mercy didn’t reset. His promises didn’t lose their power. What He was to you last year: your refuge, your strength, your Shepherd, He will be again.

This new year simply invites you to keep trusting the God who already knows the end from the beginning. The same hands that held you before will hold you now. The same voice that guided you then will guide you again.

So step into this year not with fear, but with confidence, not in yourself, but in Him. New year, new chapters, new challenges… same faithful God.
