In the spirit of figured this was the perfect time to explore this one.

🏈 Celebrate Joe Montana's famous touchdown celebration in Super Bowl XXIV. The bottle features the iconic Joe Montana illustration, limited edition San Francisco 49ers overstrip and Montana's signature. Blend 273 represents Montana's career touchdown passes.

The Limited Edition 273 Blend is a three grain mash bill of rye, corn and barley. The mash bill is approximately 10% rye and 80% corn. The blend begins as our award winning Original Gold Bar Blended American Whiskey that is casked in red wine barrels sourced from Napa Valley. For the 273 Blend, the whiskey is then finished in used Cognac barrels with the addition of toasted oak staves that added further notes of fruit, deep spice, and berries. Highly versatile and a true crowd-pleaser, delicious served neat or in cocktails. This unique showcase of a three grain American blend is crafted to celebrate one of the greatest athletes of all time. A masterpiece that is truly made for Moments Worth Celebrating.

TASTING NOTES:

👀 APPEARANCE: A rich auburn with full legs that beautifully coats the glass.

👃 NOSE: Frank August’s Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon opens with hints of caramel and vanilla that are balanced with warm oak and mild baking spices which warm the senses.

👅 PALATE: Echoes those initial sweet caramel and vanilla notes on the front of your tongue, with cinnamon and rye bread spices coming forward, as it gradually transitions to the back of your tongue. At 100 proof, it is a perfect balance of heat and smoothness that warms your mouth, while hints of brown and malt sugars begin to present themselves.

Whoa!! What the hell was that… Westward Whiskey Sauternes Cask! Amazing!! Sad I only have one bottle. Looks like I need to head to the PNW to visit Miles.. Big shout out to Westward Whiskey for this expression. Might be my favorite one thus far.

To the nose: Vanillas, orange peel and honey

Palate: oak, honey, light fruit.
