I recently read Alfred Lang's work on the interaction between humans and their environment, which he describes through his trans-action theory. Lang emphasized the meaningful relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit, offering insights into how objects and their placement influence our psychosocial identity. His student Silvia Famos's case studies were particularly illuminating. Lang's approach combines ecological and semiotic perspectives, providing a nuanced understanding of human-environment systems. I finally got around to reading a book I bought 5 years ago – “The Psychology of Architecture” by Lyubomir Kostron. What is particularly interesting about this book? It was transl…

Is it possible to be a master of Feng Shui without appreciating a stunning view and the beauty of nature? Certainly not! Feng Shui is fundamentally about embracing a magnificent view and fostering a deep connection with the environment.

Modern environmental research also provides scientific evidence supporting the benefits of such surroundings. Therefore, it’s a wonderful idea to choose a living environment that aligns with these principles, or at the very least, make an effort to visit such places whenever possible! It’s not just good for the soul, but also beneficial for your well-being.

“The altered behaviour of colorectal cancer cells in relation to cell migration was primarily observed as a result of interaction with plastic particles that are smaller than one micrometre (1 µm = 0.001 mm). Particles of this size are usually referred to as nanoplastics, which occur 10 to 100 times more frequently than microplastics in a water bottle, for example. It is undisputed that the smaller the plastic particles are, the more harmful they are. "This is once again consistent with the results of our analyses," emphasises Verena Pichler. "Our study also confirms recent findings that indicate that MNPs can influence cell behaviour and possibly contribute to the progression of diseases," adds Lukas Kenner.

"Given the ubiquity of plastics in the environment and the persistent exposure of even humans to the smallest plastic particles, further studies are urgently needed to investigate long-term effects in particular," says Kenner. "It can be assumed that MNP causes chronic toxicity," fears Pichler. The latest results and earlier studies show a high uptake and long retention in tissues and cells."

Micro- and nanoplastic particles remain in cells for much longer than previously thought, and can be passed from cell to cell during division, shows new research.

Are you an optimist, a pessimist or a realist? Do you think the world can be a better place in the future? Or do you think it's hopeless and doomed? Well, I have some good news for you. It doesn't matter what your outlook is, as long as you believe in the possibility of a better world and try to create examples of it around you.

You see, the world is not a fixed or static thing. It's constantly changing and evolving, influenced by the actions and choices of millions of people. And that means you have the power to make a difference, no matter how small or big. You can be a positive force for change, by spreading kindness, compassion, generosity, creativity, and joy. You can inspire others to do the same, by sharing your vision, your passion, your stories, and your solutions. You can be a leader, a role model, a catalyst for good.

But how do you do that? How do you believe in the possibility of a better world and try to create examples of it around you? Well, here are some tips that might help:

- Start with yourself. Be the change you want to see in the world. Cultivate a positive mindset, a grateful attitude, a healthy lifestyle, and a growth mindset. Learn new skills, explore new interests, challenge yourself, and have fun. Be kind to yourself and others, and practice self-care and self-compassion.
- Connect with others. Find your tribe, your community, your support network. Surround yourself with people who share your values, your goals, your dreams. Collaborate, cooperate, communicate, and celebrate with them. Learn from them, teach them, help them, and appreciate them. Be open to new perspectives, new cultures, new experiences.
- Take action. Don't just sit back and wait for things to happen. Make things happen. Find a cause that matters to you, and get involved. Volunteer, donate, advocate, raise awareness, or start your own project. Use your talents, your skills, your resources, and your voice to make a positive impact. Be creative, be innovative, be proactive.
- Keep learning. Don't settle for what you know or what you think you know. Seek new knowledge, new insights, new wisdom. Read books, watch documentaries, listen to podcasts, attend workshops, take courses. Stay curious, stay humble, stay hungry for more.
- Have fun. Don't take yourself or life too seriously. Enjoy the journey, not just the destination. Find joy in the simple things, the everyday things, the unexpected things. Laugh often, smile more, play more. Be spontaneous, be adventurous, be silly.

These are just some of the ways you can believe in the possibility of a better world and try to create examples of it around you. Of course, there are many more ways to do that. The important thing is to find what works for you and what makes you happy.

Remember: You are not alone in this quest. There are many people who share your vision and your passion for a better world. Together we can make it happen.

So what are you waiting for? Let's get started!

Realism and Idealism: two main actors in the theater of human experience. Realism is grounded in the tangible, the concrete, the experienced. It's the familiar landscape we navigate daily, filled with known landmarks and well-trodden paths. It's the voice of experience whispering in our ear, guiding our decisions based on precedent.

Idealism, on the other hand, dares to venture beyond the familiar. It's the spark that ignites innovation, the vision that sees beyond the horizon, the dream that dares to imagine a different world. It's the voice of aspiration, challenging us to transcend our current reality and reach for the stars.

Consider the journey of a groundbreaking invention, like the airplane. It began as an idealistic vision, a dream of human flight. Yet, through the application of realistic principles of physics and engineering, this dream was transformed into a tangible reality.

This dance between realism and idealism is the engine of progress. Realism grounds us, providing a solid base from which to launch our dreams. Idealism propels us forward, pushing us to transcend our limitations and reach for new heights.

So, as we navigate the complex dance of realism and idealism, let's remember the value of both. Let's honor the wisdom of our experiences while also daring to dream of a better future. For it is in the interplay of the real and the ideal that we find the path to progress, the road to transformation, and the joy of discovery. In this dance, we find the rhythm of life itself. 🌍💫

While crafting an intervention for my Master's program in Social Psychology, I came across this phrase. I wholeheartedly agree with it, both on a global scale and at the level of organizations and families, for whom I usually conduct Feng Shui consultations and coaching. It's much easier to address problems at their root than to wait for tension to accumulate and result in an explosion.

Here are a few strategies that might help:

Open Communication: Encourage open and honest dialogue within your organization or family. This can help bring potential issues to light before they escalate.

Active Listening: Make sure everyone feels heard and understood. This can help alleviate tension and prevent misunderstandings.

Regular Check-ins: Regularly check in with your team or family members to understand their concerns and challenges. This can help you address issues at their root.

Conflict Resolution Skills: Develop strong conflict resolution skills. This can help you navigate difficult situations and find solutions that work for everyone.

Self-Care: Remember to take care of your own mental and emotional health. You’ll be better equipped to help others if you’re also taking care of yourself.

Remember, it’s much easier to defuse a small conflict than to navigate a full-blown crisis. By addressing issues early on, you can create a more harmonious and productive environment.

I'm deep into my Master's program in Social Psychology, with a ton of projects to tackle. Each one is like a puzzle, and with lots of articles to read, videos to watch, and lectures to attend.

I started this journey hoping to graduate with honors, just like I did before. But now, I'm not so sure. I'm wondering if I should just focus on enjoying the learning process and let go of my goal?

Despite trying to be more focused and efficient, it feels like I'm climbing a steep hill. But I'm not giving up... yet… 👀

As I keep going on this journey, there's a lot happening. It's like a story that's being written every day. And while I'm on this path, those who are watching might just catch a glimpse of it.

Yesterday I’ve got bitten by this scary bug. It totally looks like an ankylosaurus to me 🙈😂

The bite actually didn’t hurt, but it made me go online and identify the bug. It was an Asian Lady Beetle larva. 🤩

If you’re curious, you can search for more information about it. Or you can ask me in the comments and I’ll try to answer.

I am excited to share with you some research that shows how lighting and sound can affect your perception of healthy drinks like fruit juices. By using this knowledge in your home design, you can create a space that enhances your experience with these drinks.

Studies have shown that the sensory environment you create while enjoying fruit juice has a significant impact on your perception of taste, thickness, and aroma. The studies found that specific lighting, sound, and background colors can intensify or weaken your perception of different juice attributes.

For example, warm lighting with a red background can heighten the perception of orange juice sweetness. Conversely, cool and green lighting can intensify the thickness of the juice. Low-frequency tones, when piped in, can also alter the body and aromatic intensity perception.

Incorporating design elements that enhance sensory experiences is one of my favorite ways to create a unique and dynamic environment. I suggest experimenting with various lighting colors, temperatures, and background colors to see how they affect your drink's perception. For example, try drinking some orange juice in a room with warm, dim lighting, and a red background to see how it affects your perception of sweetness.

Incorporating multisensory elements into your space can be a fun and exciting way to enhance your experience of healthy drinks and foods. I encourage you to experiment with these design elements and discover the ways in which your sensory environment can transform your perception of taste. Who knows, you might just discover new ways to enjoy your favorite healthy beverages!
