***Immediate Press Release on The Waldo Shooting***
On the 26th day of December, 2025 Law Enforcement from both Waldo and The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shot’s fired call at the Waldo EZ Mart located at 206 W. McKissack. As the crime scene was secured, a victim was transported by a personal vehicle to The Magnolia Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound. As information was received about the incident, the gunshot victim succumbed to his injuries. The victim was later identified as Corey Carson Jr. (21) listed as from Camden Arkansas. Information on a suspect in the incident was retrieved by detectives of The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and a warrant of arrest for 1st degree murder was issued for Jamari Young (19) listed from Waldo Arkansas.
