A follow up to what we reported on air earlier.
The El Dorado Fire Department was dispatched to Wildcat Recycling on Industrial Road this afternoon for an explosion and fire.
Units responding included; Chief 1, Chief 3, Chief 4, Battalion 1, Engine 2, Engine 4, Rescue 1, and Ladder 1.
Firefighters quickly contained multiple fires resulting from an explosion that occurred while workers were disassembling a large metal pipe.
There were no additional hazards to the surrounding area, and the scene was brought under control in a timely manner.
Responding agencies included the El Dorado Police Department, Union County Sheriff Office, Arkansas State Police, Promed Ambulance, and Union County Office of Emergency Management.
