President Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court to overturn an $83 million verdict against him after a federal appeals court upheld a civil jury's findings that he repeatedly defamed advice columnist E. Jean Carroll after she accused him of sexual assault.

The case stems from comments Trump made in 2019 after Carroll publicly accused him of sexually assaulting her in a dressing room.
