Introducing the September digital edition of The City Magazine!

Meet one of our cover stars, Jaime Favela, a pivotal figure in El Paso’s skateboarding scene. In 2010, the city earned recognition by Thrasher Magazine as “Skate Town of the Year,” thanks in part to Favela’s efforts in shaping local skate spots. “You can’t charge to skate,” he explains, reflecting on the challenges skaters faced after the closure of early skate parks.

With his backyard skate pool, The Huevo, Favela has created a unique space that captures the essence of skate culture.

His work with the El Paso Skatepark Association has transformed local skate spots, highlighting the importance of community involvement. “If you want something done right, you need the help of subject matter experts,” he asserts, emphasizing the value of collaboration.

August 3rd – We Remember El Paso

Today marks another year since the devastating tragedy that shook our El Paso community on August 3, 2019. On this day, 23 innocent lives were taken in an act of hatred and violence that targeted our people, our culture, and our sense of safety.

We remember the victims — mothers, fathers, children, grandparents — whose lives were cut short simply for being who they were and where they were. We stand with the survivors, the families forever changed, and all those who carry the weight of grief and resilience every day.

Today, we pause. We reflect. We honor.
We say their names. We hold space for their stories.

The June Cover Coldplay, Lights Up El Paso: A Night of Music!

🩵 El Paso was electric as Coldplay brought their Music of the Spheres World Tour to the Sun Bowl, delivering two sold-out shows that will be remembered for years to come. The legendary band not only filled the stadium twice with their signature sound and immersive visuals — they filled our city with energy, pride, and powerful economic momentum.

🌟For many El Pasoans, this night was a celebration of global artistry on local soil — a reminder that our city is ready to host world-class talent, with a vibrant culture and hospitality that shines brightly on the map.

🎫 Coldplay’s visit wasn’t just a performance — it was a testament to El Paso’s growing presence in the national music scene and a preview of what’s possible when our community, city leaders, and venues come together to create unforgettable experiences.

This was more than music. It was momentum. ❤️
