☀️Good morning El Paso Moms! We have the last takeover of the year today, hosted by a local Mom who will present her extraordinary project. Don't miss our stories today to enjoy a glimpse of a day in Wendy Gamillo's life.✨

“Hi, I’m Wendy Hernandez-Gamillo, wife, mom of three, and founder of Plant A Seed, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering underserved families here in El Paso. My advocacy journey comes from both my professional experience in social work and my own life as a mom, which inspires me every day to help families thrive.

Before starting Plant A Seed, I worked as a case manager for Child Protective Services, serving families in crisis. I collaborated with courts, law enforcement, medical professionals, and community leaders to create lasting support systems for children and parents alike.

Through Plant A Seed, I’m proud to lead programs like My Quince Program, the Race Against Human Trafficking, and Unity Fest expos that connect families with resources, mentorship, and growth opportunities. I truly believe that every family deserves access, dignity, and the chance to reach their fullest potential.

When I’m not working with families, I love traveling, staying active, and making meaningful memories with my kids, showing them the power of kindness, community, and giving back.”

Takeover Tuesday is here! ✨Today; our sweet and talented contributor Marbeth will share a day in her life as a Mom, and local artist. 👩‍🎨

“Greetings from Marbeth, a stay-at-home mom, former educator, watercolor artist, and passionate for the outdoors, the joy in the little things, and everything about our beautiful life in the borderland. In the midst of becoming a new stay-at-home mother and her untamable creative spirit, Marbeth created Joyful Designs and Prints by MR.

“Mother is my greatest title and priority. And because I take that so seriously, pursuing my dreams and aspirations, taking care of myself, and nurturing the woman we all first are before becoming mothers is a very important task to me.

I want to accomplish this while walking side by side with my family. I want my daughter one day to look back and reminisce on how mommy was there all along the way while she was able to witness me follow my dreams too, side by side. When it is time for my sweet girl to follow her own dreams and goals, I want her to remember that. We don’t give up, we just readjust.

Joyful Designs and Prints by MR takes its name from my daughter's middle name Joy. I was redesigned, reinvented, and transformed when becoming a mother and she inspired me to create my small business. Through it, my goal is to inspire, relate, share, and irradiate joy through my watercolor creations. One of my greatest joys is to create an art piece that will be given between individuals sending messages of love and friendship, nurturing their relationships in a very unique and special way. My heritage inspires me. Depicting the fusion of cultures and the everyday life in the borderland is representative of my work.”
