Socorro ISD confirmed Matthew Taylor is no longer the head coach of Eastlake boys basketball.

The district said it is unable to comment further, citing a personnel matter.

Student-athletes on the team held a protest before the Dec. 19 game vs. Del Valle. Taylor has missed the last two games.

Taylor remains a teacher at Eastlake HS.
