Michigan Writers, the Benzie Shores District Library and the Elberta Heritage Center are sponsoring a "Writing the Constitution" event on Monday, September 14th in honor of Constitution Day and America250MI. RSVP by emailing: [email protected].

Each participant will copy a section of the U.S. Constitution by hand, word for word, and then read it aloud. A discussion and open dialogue will follow.

Our Little Free Library sits in front of the Elberta Heritage Center/WUWU 100.1 LPFM Community Radio. The building was originally built by the residents of the village of Elberta as a library. Construction began in 1955 and was completed in 1960. The library remained open for over 40 years. This little free library was established at this location to commemorate the original Elberta Library.

Thanks to everyone that came out for the Doo Da Post Art Opening on Saturday. It was great fun. If you missed it, the Elberta Heritage Center will be open Thursday - Saturday from 9am-1pm so that you can stop by and check it out. And don't forget we have our Greenwich Village Folk Night with Rod MacDonald Thursday night at 7:30pm.
