The Most Dominant Team in Class 7!
Team MacPherson stacked eight consecutive class 7 championships in off-road racing! To do so, they built the baddest Chevy S-10s on the planet. Their innovations and testing in the desert helped GM develop a lot of their off-road technology we take for granted today, i.e. electronic 4-Wheel Drive selection.
The GM Goodwrench 1988 Chevy S-10 (below) was the precursor to the legendary ‘Little Mac’ S-10 built in 1990. Little Mac was designed by Bryan Kudela and built by Jerry McDonald, and other team members. More on that truck later.

TOYOTA and Ivan "Ironman" Stewart were the perfect match marketing wise. The manufacturer wanted to gain traction in the US market, and silence doubters by emphasizing toughness and reliability. Ivan got his factory racing support, and a platform to promote his personal brand. The relationship changed consumer opinions of Toyota trucks and led to increased production domestically in the US, all while Ivan was stacking up victories and championships!
