BREAKING: Supreme Court ruling strengthens disability rights in education!

In a unanimous decision, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of a Minnesota student with epilepsy, making it easier for students with disabilities and their families to seek justice when schools fail to provide necessary accommodations. 💼⚖️

Chief Justice Roberts wrote:

“Children with disabilities and their parents face daunting challenges on a daily basis. We hold today that those challenges do not include having to satisfy a more stringent standard of proof than other plaintiffs.”

This ruling is a major step forward in protecting the educational rights of students with disabilities nationwide. 💙

Our Story

Sensory Friends helps special needs families to become active members of their community so they are empowered to advocate for their child to be included and accepted by society.

Sensory Friends was started by Christine Goulbourne is a special needs mom, advocate, writer and speaker. Christine lives with her family in Florida. As a mother of a teen with autism, Christine knows it’s crucial for special needs parents to be informed of special education services, their rights, and all therapeutic and recreational services available. After receiving training from leading advocacy experts and serving on many councils and boards, Christine trains special needs parents to advocate for their child’s right to be educated and included. Christine believes a child’s success begins with meaningful parent involvement.

Our passion is to model, inspire, teach, motivate, and empower parents to advocate for and become actively involved in their child’s education, be fully included, and improve their family’s overall quality of life.
