The Daily Advance The Daily Advance is a community newspaper that serves 5 counties in northeastern North Carolina. The Daily Advance is published in Elizabeth City, N.C.

and serves an area of five mostly rural counties in the northeastern corner of North Carolina. They include Currituck, Camden, Pasquotank, Perquimans, and Chowan counties. An inmate has escaped from the Chowan County Detention Center (100 Court Street, Edenton, NC). The escape occurred around 8:10 PM this evening.

INDIVIDUAL INFORMATION
The escaped individual should be considered DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY ARMED.
• Name: Charles Edward Babb
• Age: 23
• Description: White male, brown hair, brown eyes.
• Clothing: Last seen wearing an ORANGE JUMPSUIT.
• Distinguishing Mark: Tear drop tattoo under his right eye.
• Last Seen: Near Bridge Turn Exxon in Edenton.

IMMEDIATE SAFETY ACTIONS REQUIRED
We strongly urge all community members to take these precautions:
1. SECURE: Lock all doors and windows and REMAIN INDOORS.
2. DO NOT APPROACH: Do not attempt to approach or engage the individual.
3. CALL 911: If you see Charles Edward Babb or observe any unusual activity, call 911 immediately.

From earlier today: Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Schools will operate on a 3-hour early release Monday, Dec. 8, in anticipation of inclement weather and winter weather advisory.

All after-school activities and extracurricular events are canceled for Monday.

Students will be dismissed at the following times:
11:15 a.m. - Pre-K & Micro School
11:45 a.m. - Elementary Schools
12:20 p.m. - H.L. Trigg Community School
12:30 p.m. - ECP Early College
12:35 p.m. - Middle Schools
