Here is another addition to my jewelry box makeovers and is now available. I painted the jewelry box with Dixie Belle Bunker Hill Blue Chalk Mineral Paint and stenciled details with Dixie Belle Gold Digger Metallic Paint. The sides and top feature a beautiful Peacock Paradise transfer from Redesign with Prima, and the hardware is accentuated with Dixie Belle Gold Gilding Wax. I finished box with Dixie Belle Clear Coat Satin to seal the paint and transfers. SOLD - I’ve been working on a few jewelry boxes in between my holiday decor projects and will have them stocked and available in my booth at The Red Door Antiques this weekend. I painted this box with Dixie Belle Silk All-in-One Mineral Paint in Conch and embellished it with the Redesign with Prima Enchanted Grove transfer. I used Dixie Belle Best Dang Wax Clear to seal the transfers and Antique Gold Gilding Wax to brighten the hardware.

Some of my favorite craft projects during the holidays are teacher inspired. I hand painted these apple pencil pockets and added a thoughtful collection of essentials and treats to create a gift that will brighten up a teacher's desk. These will be available at our upcoming show at the Senior Center of Elk Grove Holiday Craft Faire, Saturday, November 22, 2025.

I’m in crafting mode for our upcoming show at the Senior Center of Elk Grove next Saturday, November 22. I created these mixed media Holy Family ornaments using vintage music sheets, clothes pins, jenga blocks, wood stars, fabric, beads, and stamps on a wood tag.

Hello, my name is Kimberly Wallace. I’m the owner and creative at The Chalked Trunk. I have always been a crafter and DIY enthusiast. I like to attend Vintage Markets and I like to decorate by upcycling and repurposing, mixing old with new. Above all, I LOVE painting furniture! I started by finding and painting pieces for my own home because I could never find what I liked in retail stores. Not to mention, the prices were over the top! There is so much character and durability in a vintage piece of furniture, and finding outdated, solid wood pieces to paint is just a bigger palette for me to create something beautiful. As I continue to follow my passion, I am inspired by new painting techniques and color choices. There is so much satisfaction knowing that each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation!

New in 2020! I recently acquired shop space and am selling furniture and home decor’ at “Vintage Soul” in Old Town Elk Grove (9084 Elk Grove, Blvd., Elk Grove, CA). It’s a shop with a mix of old and new where you can find vintage, farmhouse and shabby chic decor and more! I am also proud to announce that I am a Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint retailer!
