The Back Porch

The Back Porch The Back Porch at 88.1 WVPE Norm Mast and Al Kniola co-host this popular acoustic roots radio show that airs every Sunday night from 6-10 pm Eastern time.

Within approximately 70 miles of South Bend, IN, the show can be heard on your radio at 88.1 WVPE-FM. It can also be heard online anywhere in the world (if you have an Internet connection!) by listening online - click the "arrow" at the top of our WVPE home page. Better yet, download the free WVPE app from your Apple or Android store - it works perfectly on most devices. We play a VERY eclectic mix of acoustic-based music - some people would call it "roots" music, or "Americana." The best way to define what we play is for you to listen to at least 1-2 hours of the show and decide for yourself. You'll hear traditional and contemporary folk, bluegrass, old time, singer/songwriter, Celtic, Cajun and cowboy to name a few styles - and you'll hear lots and lots of local artists! The Back Porch also offers live, in studio performances by both local and touring artists from time to time.
