Fusion Radio: Our Story
Fusion Radio began as a vision by a few leaders at Living Faith Fellowship in Elkhart, IN. The vision grew and in early 2000 an FCC license was acquired and 98.7fm was born. WFLQ-LP!!!!
The radio station gained new vision and leadership in 2005 and grew into a tool for the local community. Fusion Radio also became the only 24-7/365 FM based radio station totally devoted to Hiphop! Elkhart, IN was the home to the only Christian Rap radio station in the world. God began to use the station and a festival was born through prayer and labor. This festival would be called Fusion Fest and would assemble gospel rappers from all over the country to Elkhart to be taught and use their gift for our captive audience. The Fusion Fest was a blessing and birthed numerous impactful movements including Back 2 School Elkhart.
Fusion morphed in 2012 and became Iron Mic Radio and continued the vision of giving the people of the Michiana area gospel rap and music with a message. Tragically the ministry of Living Faith could no longer sustain the ministry and the license was sold to a ministry in Florida. 98.7fm exists to this day ministering in Spanish to the people of Michiana.
Fusion Radio 2.0 is coming back for 2020 to pick up where it left off and to bring a practical gospel to a world plagued by police shootings, school shooting and overall decay of our precious world. Our team will be launching a downloadable app for Andriod and iPhone early 2020 and is opening negotiations for 98.7fm to broadcast not only for streaming but terrestrial FM broadcasting. In other words, Fusion will be back in your car very soon with the help of God and your prayers.
