Here is more about the horse that got loose on the US 20 bypass. Glad everyone is safe and the horse is back home!

Nope, the videos you saw on Nosey Neighbors weren't AI... there really 𝗪𝗔𝗦 a loose horse on our side of the Bypass this morning... and...we have something to say about it.

It's always amazing to see how quickly and creatively our community comes together when there's someone (or something) in need.

It started with the multiple people who called St Joseph County 9-1-1, concerned about the animal's welfare. Dispatchers then got to work, immediately requesting resources to the Bypass to ensure the horse could be protected from traffic.

When we arrived on-scene, several men had already stopped to help corral the horse. They surrounded the animal, offering hay to help the horse remain calm during a stressful situation.

Eventually SBPD, along with officers from area jurisdictions, used their patrol vehicles to es**rt the group so they could safely walk the horse off the Bypass.

Thanks to coordination from PSAP, law enforcement and members of the community, the horse was ultimately reunited with its owner.

It's true, it takes a village to raise a child... but apparently it takes one to corral a horse on the Bypass, too. Thank you, everyone!
