Yadkin County commissioners unanimously approved a moratorium on data centers after a public hearing on Monday. This would apply only to unincorporated areas of the county. The original proposal was for 12 months, but Commissioner Cliff Collins made a motion to extend it to two years, and the vote was 5-0. That same day, a company operating as White Fiber, announced an agreement with Unifi for the sale of two Yadkinville properties. The sale is priced at $60 million, and the proposed project could add 60 MW of initial capacity with the potential to support approximately 200 MW over time.
