Vets For Kids — A Plan to Protect Every Child in Every School

When Sandy Hook happened, it hit him like a punch to the chest—this could have been his classroom, his students, his colleagues. That moment sparked a question: What can I actually do to help?

The answer: Vets For Kids — a practical plan driven by veterans and community leaders to create a real hedge of protection around schools and work toward eliminating gun violence. This isn’t political rhetoric—it’s action born from pain, experience, and a responsibility to keep children safe.

He believes we can protect every kid in every school, and he’s laid out how to make that possible: mobilize trained veterans, coordinate with schools and first responders, and implement on-the-ground solutions that reduce risk and increase safety. It’s about prevention, courage, and community doing what it takes to protect its children.

👉 If keeping kids safe matters to you, this is the kind of plan worth hearing—and supporting.

The Future of Health – Living 200, 300… Maybe 1,000 Years?

Imagine this: you’re driving down the road and having a heart attack—but before you even realize it, your watch has already detected it. ⌚🚗 It alerts your car, reroutes you to the nearest hospital, sends your vitals ahead, and calls a cardiac surgeon to be waiting as you pull up.

That’s the future being envisioned. A future where nanobots pulse through your bloodstream, curing diseases before symptoms appear. Where life spans once capped at 80–100 years stretch to 200, 300… maybe even 1,000 years.

Aubrey de Grey famously predicted the first person to live to 1,000 is already alive today. Even if that’s off by a factor of 2 or 3, it still means our children’s lifetimes could be dramatically longer and healthier.

👉 Whether it’s 200 or 1,000 years, the point is this: technology is about to change what it means to live, heal, and age. Are you ready for it?

“When I have a book in hand and you have a movie in hand—whoop whoop whoop whoop!” 🎉 The excitement is real, because both stories share something deeper than entertainment—they carry a message about belief and mentorship.

The recommended movie wasn’t just a film—it was a reflection of the very values being lived out: the belief that mentorship changes lives, and that belief itself is powerful enough to create transformation.

Books and movies may be different mediums, but both can move hearts, spark action, and inspire futures. Whether it’s words on a page or images on a screen, the message is clear: believe in people, and they’ll rise.

👉 Mentorship isn’t just guidance—it’s belief in someone else’s potential before they see it themselves.

It wasn’t just about books, coins, or even the Navy—it was about connection. RJ shared how he gave young Kenny a Navy coin and promised to send more, but the real gift was the bond they built.

Kenny laughed so hard he cried, playing and joking as if they’d known each other forever. RJ teased him—“Go get me some water, Kenny. Want a cookie?”—and Kenny loved every second. For a boy who doesn’t often see many uncles, aunts, or grandparents, this warmth meant everything.

That day, Kenny didn’t just see an author or a leader—he saw family. ❤️

👉 True relationships aren’t about bloodlines. They’re about the love, laughter, and connection we share along the way.

Reading is more than words on a page—it’s brain training. 🧠 When you read, your mind has to interpret symbols, process meaning, and paint pictures inside your head. It activates the cognitive part of your brain that expands imagination, sharpens focus, and deepens thinking.

But reading doesn’t just stimulate the mind—it transports you. It takes you places you’ve never been and introduces you to ideas that can change how you see the world.

For him, reading became more than a hobby—it became a lifeline. In one month, he read 130 books—three a day—while in the penitentiary. That season of reading built knowledge, resilience, and the perspective he carries forward today.
👉 Reading doesn’t just inform you—it transforms you.

He was playing poker with his dad and a few others aboard the submarine when the alarm sounded: “Fire in the engine room!” 🚨
This wasn’t a drill. At 400 feet underwater, there’s no room for panic. He dropped everything and rushed to the scene. Meanwhile, the fathers were calmly guided to put on their oxygen masks in the dining area, just as they’d been briefed.

The fire turned out to be a smoking control box—serious, but manageable. Power was secured, the danger contained. When he returned, he reassured everyone: “Don’t worry. Everything’s gonna be okay. The fire is out. We’re going up to ventilate.”

The lesson? Leadership in crisis is about staying calm, following training, and making others feel safe. In moments of fear, reassurance is as important as action.

👉 True leaders carry calm into the chaos.

Not every story is meant to stay on the page. Some are written for something bigger—for the screen. 🎬

When asked if his book could be a movie, his answer was confident: “Yes. I’ve had too many people tell me that.” With a life story full of redemption, resilience, and transformation, it’s not hard to imagine it playing out on the big screen.

But here’s the deeper point: he doesn’t share the negative just to dwell on it. He shares it with purpose—because there’s always a positive payoff for the audience. That’s the heart of storytelling.

And when asked who would play him? At 62, he smiled and said he’d play himself. After all, who better to embody the journey than the one who lived it?

👉 Some stories are so powerful, they demand to be seen.

One way to have a dream come true is by helping a cause, a church, or anything that makes the world better.” 🌍 That’s the heart of RJ Chapman’s message.

With his new book Letters To Bob releasing in just a month, RJ continues to inspire through stories of service, leadership, and faith. And if you want to meet him in person, you can connect with him at the Military Influencer Conference in Atlanta on September 21.

From Nashville to Orlando to Atlanta, RJ’s journey with Perfect Publishing has been one of connection, purpose, and joy. And at the core of it all is a simple but powerful reminder: smiling is a choice. When you smile, people look at you and say, “I want what you’ve got.

👉 Keep smiling. Keep inspiring. The world needs more of it.

When I look back at my journey—three decades of entrepreneurship, more than 30 published books, and travels across 101 countries—I feel gratitude. But I also feel something even stronger: a hunger to keep dreaming bigger.

It would be easy to stop here, to say, “I’ve done enough.” But I believe purpose has no finish line. Every day I wake up with the same question: “How can I amplify more goodness today?” That question pushes me to think beyond my current achievements and to imagine what’s still possible.

Dreams don’t expire with age or success. They expand. The more you accomplish, the greater your responsibility to serve others, inspire new leaders, and create ripples of hope that stretch even further. My journey isn’t about the milestones I’ve reached—it’s about the ones I haven’t yet imagined.

So, I choose to keep going. To keep writing, publishing, photographing, connecting, and smiling. Because there’s always more good to amplify, more lives to impact, and more dreams to chase.

👉 Never stop dreaming. Never stop amplifying.

Not every author will be successful—and that’s the truth. No summit, no publisher, no coach can guarantee success. Why? Because it depends on your book, your decisions, and how you approach the business.

But here’s what can be promised: the right information to stack the deck in your favor. With the right tools, you can at least avoid losing money—and at best, you can make enough to turn publishing into a full-time career. 📚💡

That’s why opportunities like APG, Kids Read Now, and even a live investor pitch at the summit are game changers. From distributors to investors, these are doors most authors never get the chance to walk through.

Publishing isn’t just about printing books—it’s about building a business that works. And with the right knowledge and the right connections, authors can create sustainable success.

👉 You can’t guarantee results, but you can always prepare to win.

People often ask me what it means to live as Dr. Smiley. For me, it’s not about titles, degrees, or recognition—it’s about how I show up for people every single day.

The truth is, life doesn’t demand perfection. It demands presence. Perfection is an illusion that keeps us chasing standards we’ll never meet. But presence? Presence is powerful. It’s looking someone in the eye, listening with your full attention, and leaving them better than you found them—even if it’s just with a smile.

That’s the heart of my mission. Whether I’m publishing an author’s first book, amplifying a nonprofit’s story, or capturing moments behind the camera, my goal is simple: to bring more joy, more hope, and more goodness into the room.

When you live as Dr. Smiley, you don’t strive to be flawless—you strive to be human. And humanity, in all its imperfections, is where connection thrives. If I can leave someone just a little happier, a little lighter, or a little more hopeful, then I know I’ve lived my purpose.
👉 Choose presence over perfection.

When asked why it took three times behind bars for him to finally change, his answer was raw and real.

The first time, he came out thinking he could just become a better drug dealer.

The second time, he still thought he could outsmart the system—be a better criminal. But at the core, he was still an addict making destructive choices.

By the third time, everything shifted. Facing the threat of 25 years to life under the habitual criminal statute, fear was part of it. But the real turning point was a conversation with God. He prayed, he listened, and—most importantly—he did the work.

That’s when the journey truly began. That’s when he started to become Ken.
👉 Change doesn’t happen until you’re ready to face the truth, surrender, and put in the work.
