After a week in the mountains, she's been reunited with her family!

We've been quietly working on a new project, and it's almost ready!
Y'all are familiar with Cowpie, the 2003 Jeep TJ that's in all the photos. Usually, Erin drives and I (Mo) take the pictures.
Things are about to change.
Cowpie is getting a Jeep brother!
The project is a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and his name is Artax, the horse from The Neverending Story. Why that name? Because we've had this rig for over a year and it's been a never-ending story of fix, modify, fix, upgrade... and I'm pretty sure it's going to get stuck and die in a Swamp of Sadness. (If you saw the movie as a kid, i just reminded you of that particular childhood trauma. You're welcome!)
Artax is my rig, it's my daily driver, and we keep trying to convince ourselves that we're setting it up for overlanding, not rock crawling.

We are 43% confident that it's trail ready, so this weekend we're going to do an easy test run close to home. We'll see what's leaking when we're done.

Spent the afternoon with Rigs and Adventures (Beginner-friendly, overlanding events) at Beverly Sand Dunes today. A fantastic guided educational run today that included a training session on recovery.

Wherever you decide to camp, remember that you're spending time in something else's home. Be respectful, pick up after yourself. Pack it in, pack it out. Leave it better than you found it for the next person who finds that amazing camping spot.

It's been a while since we were able to get out for a weekend, but the weather is getting nicer and we're itching to go!
Here's a little PSA: If you're out exploring alone, don't take any unnecessary risks. Tell someone the general area you're planning on going and when they should expect you back.
Cell phone service can be sketchy in the mountains so if your vehicle gets stuck on a difficult trail, it could make for a long hike or a long uncomfortable night. Save the difficult trails and the uncertain obstacles for when you have at least one other vehicle with you.
