Ellensburg, this is our moment to shine.

When one family hurts, we all feel it — and right now, the Schultz-Utter family needs our love more than ever.

Their sweet, spunky two-year-old, Wesley, was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. In just days, their world turned upside down as they rushed to Seattle Children’s Hospital and began the long road of treatment.

But through heartbreak, this family has shown incredible strength — and our community has already started wrapping them in the same kindness Ellensburg is known for.

Now, as Taylor, Isaiah, and their children face months of treatment away from home, we’re asking our community to rally around them. Your support helps with medical travel, lost income, housing near the hospital, meals, and daily living needs while they focus on helping Wesley heal.

Together, they’ve created books filled with humor, heart, and imagination — the kind of stories that make kids laugh and remind us all of the joy in simple things.

Thank you, Sue and Isabella, for sharing your story and your creative gifts with our readers. Your partnership is proof that when passion meets purpose, magic happens — right here in our own backyard.

🏉 Ellensburg Rugby is thriving!
What started in 2020 with just a handful of determined athletes has grown into one of the largest youth rugby clubs in Washington State — now home to more than 160 players from kindergarten through high school.

Thanks to the dedication of an incredible coaching staff, the program is shaping athletes both on and off the field:

Will Yarwood – U-14 Coach
Eric Seim – Boys High School Coach
Jeremy Johnson – U-12 Coach
Mike O’Malley – Boys High School Coach
Cage Cross – U-14 Assistant Coach

This year, the program is preparing for an exciting Ireland Tour, giving local athletes the opportunity to train, compete, and experience rugby culture on a global stage.
