Iron Horse Brewery is hosting a Pint Night to benefit Kittitas County Special Olympics on Thursday, August 13th, from 4 to 8 p.m.

The silent auction starts right at 4, bingo gets underway at 4:30, Tinned Fish takes the stage at 6, and karaoke wraps things up beginning at 7:15.

It’s an all-ages, pet-friendly event with pizza, beer, cider and non-alcoholic options available. Cash and Venmo will be accepted throughout the evening.

Come enjoy a busy night at Iron Horse Brewery while supporting the athletes of Kittitas County Special Olympics.

We’re about halfway through the KXLE Big Ticket Giveaway, with another on-air qualifier coming this Friday morning! Listen for the codeword running this week and tune into Friday's Morning Rodeo for the cue to call! Be the 9th caller (or beyond) who can give us the codeword and you'll be entered!

We’ll end up with 12 finalists altogether... six who qualify by listening and calling in, plus six chosen from the bonus-entry boxes ... just stop by either 7-11 location or Shirtworks and get your name in the box. We’ll start drawing those bonus entries and making calls on the morning of August 21, so make sure you answer. NOTE: if we can’t reach you, we’ll move on to the next name.

Every finalist will walk away with something, and one person will take home the full Kittitas County Fair and Ellensburg Rodeo prize package. Keep listening, grab this week’s codeword and be ready to call Friday morning!

Due to smoke and air quality concerns, tonight’s National Night Out events in Cle Elum and Ellensburg have been postponed.

The City of Kittitas is still planning to hold its National Night Out event from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Gazebo Park.

A lot of people have asked how they can help those affected by the wildfires in the Spokane area. The best answer is also the simplest -- send money through a trusted organization.

Donated clothing, food and household items can be helpful when they are specifically requested, but unsolicited goods also have to be transported, stored, sorted and distributed. Financial donations give relief organizations the flexibility to provide exactly what displaced families need, whether that’s shelter, meals, medication, clothing or transportation.

We’re pointing people to KREM 2 News and its KREM Cares: Help 2 Northwest page as a trusted starting point.

That choice is personal for us. Our beloved office manager, Claudia Self, worked at KREM back in the day and Morning Rodeo host Henry J. grew up watching KREM 2 News religiously with his dad. It was the station we trusted, and it seemed like the right place to send people now.
