I have felt for a long time that people are missing out on all that Ellijay has to offer. We have events and charities that are happening all the time and yet its a hit and miss with getting out the information. In order to help out our commerce and the good people of Ellijay each week or day if possible I am going to pick out a local company or organization and try and help promote them this will

help keep local money here and hopefully open up much needed jobs. So I am going to put out as much information as I can about upcoming events with photos. Its getting hot outside but Gilmer County Library's air conditioning is on full blast! We have books, free wi-fi, and other exciting things to keep you engaged for an hour or more... Scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening. A couple of storms may produce hazardous wind gusts in the 40 to 50 mph range.

๐†๐ข๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ž๐ซ ๐‚๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ฒ has procured a Cooling Center for those folks without the means to avoid the extreme heat forecasted for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (July 28, 29, & 30). The Center will be the old Ellijay Primary School gym, 196 McCutchen St. (across from the First United Methodist Church and just before Harrison Park). Thank you to our Board of Education for offering their facility during this heat wave.

The doors will open at noon and close at 6:00 PM each day. Visitors should bring a chair, some non-alcoholic hydration, and something to read. The school property is unable to accept pets.
