At 17, I found myself a single mother — and years later, my son’s quest for his father through a DNA test brought to light a truth that left me weak in the knees.
I was just a teenager, swept up in first love, when I became pregnant. My boyfriend Andrew disappeared after I shared the news, not even finishing his schooling.
I hurried to his house, only to see the family had moved and the home was on the market.
During graduation, Leo was right there in my arms as I received my diploma.
My parents were a lifeline in the beginning, then I worked non-stop to give my son a good life. I did my best for him.
Eighteen years passed in a heartbeat.
Leo matured into a wonderful young man — bright, kind, funny, and loving.
At Leo’s graduation, my pride was overwhelming.
Recently, he began asking more about his birth father. I always told him the truth — Andrew left, and I never heard from him again.
Just a few days ago, Leo entered the kitchen, visibly pale, and admitted:
"Mom, I didn't want to hurt you, so I secretly took a DNA test. I just wanted to find my dad and ask why he left us."
My heart raced as I questioned:
"Did you find him?"
With a shaky voice, he answered:
"No, I didn’t find him. But I found his sister and messaged her."
I was shocked; I didn’t know Andrew had a sister.
Leo explained that she replied, shedding light on what truly happened to Andrew 18 years ago.
Leo handed me his phone.
With trembling hands, I read the message word by word.
I gasped, "Oh my God, so that's WHAT really happened 18 years ago. What did Andrew get himself into back then? THIS CAN'T BE REAL!" ⬇️
