September ... One of my favorite months, for so many reasons ... the colors, the air, the sea, the scents, the flora, the sunrises and sunsets, the slower pace ... changes that are meant to be embraced and enjoyed. For me, always a time of reflection.

And so here I am, my last month of this wonderful curated garage sale journey, full refreshed and restocked. I am reflecting upon how thankful I am for a wonderful summer, engaged shoppers, and appreciative of both old and new acquaintances I have met during these last several months.

I am pondering about what changes are happening and conjuring up bright new ideas for what lies ahead. My days here in this one storage garage have been an impromptu dream come true, however this venue ends at the end of this month.

My goals have been met, and I have new goals and new leaves to turn over. Meanwhile, I ask you to join me over the next few weeks ... give a look-see at my wares, stop by if you can, and no matter what, embrace this change of season.

Transition ... Autumn is already beginning to sneak up on us here in Maine. Our sunrises and sunsets begin to show a more subdued hue, the salty air begins to smell a bit crispier, and the flora around us begins to change colors. A favorite time of the year here for me. And, a transition where things will begin to slow down.

I brought some of that autumn vibe into my garage sale this week. In synch with this transition, I am also winding down my summer garage sale adventure as I plan to end this garage sale venue on the last weekend in September. 🍁Beginning today, August 24th, my garage sales will continue for several more weeks on Sundays only with a garage full of vintage furniture, mirrors, lamps, country collectibles, and fall flair🍁!

And, fair warning to my followers and shoppers, I will not be open on Labor Day weekend ... I will be enjoying a few festivities that are special here this time of the year, like the Blue Hill Fair. So, THANK YOU-THANK YOU for a successful summer and here's to relishing the next several weeks as we all begin a transition, Julie!

Somethin-somethin' for everyone!!

Old paned windows, vintage wood shutters, old mirrors of all sizes, antique chairs with stories to share, drawers and wooden crates, mason jars and terracotta pots, lamps and tapestry, baskets and FALL FLAIR added Sunday for my garage sale REFRESH!!

Even MORE AUTUMN added after this walk-through for the upcoming weekend. Several more weekends to go and more attic treasures to sell. Curious shoppers welcome every Friday and Sunday!!

FRIYAY!! ... Autumn is coming to my garage sale after today!!

More importantly, I am so very thankful for the wonderful shoppers who have stopped by this summer since I started this venue in May!! YES, Summer has been AWESOME!!

I am here in this garage through September, then I vacate this space. If you have been watching my reels this summer, you will know one of my goals was to whittle down my inventory ... and, I am happy to say: GOAL MET!!

I have several weeks to go to enjoy and share this venue with you, and it's time for a REFRESH. The next time you see my garage sale, this space will display several new pieces of furniture AND autumn decor and colors ... and, I love love LOVE the colors of autumn!!

Time flies fast, especially in the summer, especially in the summer when you are having fun!

My fun this summer has been my weekly garage sales ... adding new items weekly as items sell, listing furniture on FBMP and posting smalls in my eBay store right here during my downtime, and completely refreshing this garage every 3-4 weeks ... and, a REFRESH is coming this Sunday, August 17th!

Meanwhile, let's garage "sail" through. Let's play "I spy with my little eye something that is _____." From tables to dressers, mirrors to lamps, assorted uniques and smalls ... a little bit of this, a little bit of that!

Yes, REFRESH is coming Sunday the 17th ... what will it bring? Hint ... it may still be summer here, however I will be adding some autumn!

My story ... or at least a snippet of it!!

After almost 17 years of running a booth at an antique mall, I made a leap and started hosting my own garage sales out of a rented storage garage.

Here, mid-July, I walk you through my space and showcase several of my treasures for sale. Go ahead and laugh with me as I use a newly acquired selfie-stick and walk and talk. It may take me a few more trials to get comfy-cozy with this thingamajig!

In April of this year, it was a period of drastic change and uncertainty as well as much appreciated support from hubby, family, and close friends ... It involved pushing my hopelessly optimistic drive over its limits and a lot of effort avoiding negativism and adversity. It involved stepping out of my comfort zone to explore new opportunities as a small business in antiques, vintage, and secondhand.

Enjoying the re-sell business to take me into my nearing retirement years and taking a risk without fear is what spawned the garage sale venue. Having a lot of inventory without a proper venue (other than my pre-existing eBay store) encouraged me to temporarily nix buying and set myself a hefty goal to whittle down to a reasonable inventory stock by summer's end ... Pleasantly surprised, I realized this particular weekend at the garage that my goal is nearing achievement.

I do plan to continue my Ellsworth garage sales right through the end of September, then vacate this space. I am not going away ... because I so much enjoy what I am doing, I already have some longer term ideas in the works.

When you buy from a small business, you’re not just a customer—you’re part of the story. And, since starting my curated garage sales in May through present-day the first of August, I already have oodles of stories to relish from the shoppers who have visited!!

Can you believe it is already August ... time flies when you are having fun, and this summer with my garage sales has been FUN!!

I admit I have been very lucky weather-wise ... not a Friday or a Sunday missed. Summer has been very kind!!

And, I have been very fortunate attracting shoppers, both old shoppers from my booth life and new shoppers from my FB/IG reach. Summer sales have been very kind, too ... THANK YOU!!

There are still lots of summer days ahead for all of us, so here's hoping each and every one of you ENJOY, Julie!!!
