Grammy’s Yarns is a small, mom-and-pop publishing company established by Kenneth and Eileen Hill in 2013. Their goal is to publish “home-spun stories for the close-knit family,” books to inspire, entertain, teach and encourage children and adults alike. Loving a parent with Alzheimer’s is the company’s first release. Several children’s books are in the works. "Who’s in Mama’s Chair?" is a testimon

y of a loving daughter and a victorious Christian life. This book well chronicles the variable emotions, trials, joys, and sorrows in caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s Disease. Having seen this disease work its slow relentless demise in my own mother, Eileen eloquently and personally portrays her experiences along this road. As physician, friend, and fellow believer in Christ, I find this work a poetic encouragement for families caring for those with Alzheimer’s disease and a portrait of the triumphant outcome that can occur if they walk the path with God. We rejoice in God’s faithfulness through the journey, His wonderful promises of peace, joy in the midst of sadness, and life eternal with a loving God. – Daniel J. Sastic, MD, FAAFP, Medical Director, Yukon Flats Health Center

As I read "Who’s in Mama’s Chair?" I was often moved to tears as I remembered my friends, Ruth and Eileen, and felt the emotional pain and frustration each new day brought for you both while experiencing the difficulties brought on with Alzheimer’s. Having seen many patients and their families go through this process, it brought back many memories for me. The insight Eileen gained and is able to share through this book gives guidance, encouragement, and common sense ways to deal with situations one might encounter during this journey with a loved one. – Marie Allcorn, RN, BSN, former Director of Nursing at Friends Home

I love that each chair brings you to Jesus! No matter what stage you are in, you need Jesus there. – Mindy L. Laury, BSW, Director of Alzheimer's and Dementia, Sunrise Senior Living

New Blog Post: The Story of Wally

"I love the hustle and bustle of Christmas. I love the decorations, the carols, the cookies, the lights, the gatherings, the gifts…I am no Grinch or Scrooge by a long shot. But what I love most is reflecting on and celebrating the extravagant love of my Father and the incomprehensible humility of His dear Son."

Merry Christmas, everybody! What a crazy, busy time of the year. I love it. Give me the tinsel and the trappings, the hustle and the bustle, and I’m a happy Camper.

God truly is the lifter of our heads. And with our eyes fixed on Him, we can wear any number of hats and do anything He asks of us.

Only what’s done
For Christ will last.

I think caregivers, generally speaking, uniquely understand the fragility and the brevity of life. We live and move under death’s unrelenting shadow. When one we love is taken from us, then, our deep sorrow and grief can come as quite an unanticipated surprise--especially to us.&am

"With my in-laws' consensual and welcome transition to our home, I find I am suddenly back into full-blown caregiver mode. I don’t often feel qualified or capable, but if my Father calls me to this, and I believe He has, He promises not only to equip me, but to be with me every moment of each day. He did that for me with my Mama; I am certain He will be faithful once again."

The unexpected clang of the doorbell pierced the quiet of my bedroom. With dread, I sprang into action. I took the stairs two at a time, my arthritic knees struggling to keep up with the rest of me. I rounded the island in the kitchen in record time, panting, and burst into my in-law’s room. What ...
