Anthony Jackson, Rest In Peace
Bassist Anthony Jackson, a consummate accompanist, renowned virtuoso and ubiquitous session player with more than 500 recordings to his credit, died at his home on Staten Island on Oct. 19 from Parkinson’s disease. He was 73.

In Memoriam: Jack DeJohnette 1942-2025
Jack DeJohnette, a bold and resourceful drummer and NEA Jazz Master who forged a unique vocabulary on the kit over his 60-year career, died Oct. 26 at a hospital in Kingston, New York. He was 83.
