WRSE Elmhurst College Radio 88.7FM, playing Rock Variety Radio at Elmhurst College WRSE's music stream is completely student run and is available on-air and online.

Started in 1947 by returning World War 2 Veterans as a carrier-current station, WRSE has since evolved into a Rock Variety Format Station operating on a FM signal since 1962. Being the only FM receiver in the city of Elmhurst, WRSE is dedicated to serving the Elmhurst community as well as the student body of Elmhurst College. WRSE also offers a variety of opportunities for students and station alumni involvement as well as hosting open tours of the station for the public.

Our Story

Started in 1947 by World War 2 Veterans, WRSE is now a Rock Variety Station operating on FM signal since 1962. Being the only FM receiver in the city of Elmhurst, WRSE is dedicated to serving the Elmhurst community as well as the student body of Elmhurst College. The music stream is completely student run and available on-air + online. Though we are predominately a rock variety station, WRSE specialty shows have run the gamut from hip-hop to local music interviews to conspiracy theory talk shows.

WRSE also offers a variety of opportunities for student, staff and public involvement: apart from station positions, we’ve hosted alumni pannels, tours of the station, holiday specials, a bar crawl, and what is now an annual Battle of the Bands. Ad space is available to outside businesses as well as Elmhurst college clubs on WRSE, with rates varying depending on ad length and purpose.
