After all the hootinā and hollerinā over what kind of pizza is actually Chicago-style pizza, The Sister Project has come to a conclusion.
It doesnāt matter if itās thin crust, tavern style, or deep dish. All that matters is that itās freaking delicious.
To help us celebrate, Danielle, owner of Old World Pizza in Elmwood Park, personally drove an 18-inch, half green olive, half pepperoni-and-sausage thin crust pizza to our house because she knew all that hooting and hollering over Chicago pizza had to leave us hungry.
And because sheās a real Chicago gal, she didnāt show up empty-handed. She brought a liter of RC Cola, too.
The pizza was delicious, the RC was ice cold, and it reminded us that Chicago pizza isnāt just about the crust.
Itās about neighborhood joints, family traditions and recipes, summer nights, paper napkins, and the memories that come with every slice.
And with that, delivered. What a treat! Thank you, Danielle, for feeding us while we navigated one of the greatest debates in Chicago history. And it was so fun to meet you!
Yāall call up for tonightās Friday pizza night!
