The rezoning would clear the way for a proposed five-unit commercial development on the parcels owned by the former Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church that were annexed into the city last year. The proposed development from Luv Retail Development, of Florida, would be called “Chestnut Row.”

“It’s kind of a once in a lifetime thing,” said Dave Thum of Lakewood, who watched the train come through Lorain. “I like steam engines and older transportation, so what a great thing to see. I love steam power. It’s just so unique. You don’t see it anymore.”

Hundreds of spectators lined the railroad tracks Monday morning as Union Pacific's Big Boy No. 4014 made a whistle stop in Lorain, drawing train enthusiasts, families and history buffs from across Ohio.
