In 2016, Matt Henson & Kenny Dirkes of Pacific Northwest streetpunks Matt Henson embarked on a project that was significantly less...noisey. This weekend marks the 10 year anniversary of the Stadium Way 7" on Pirates Press Records!

While this project was a separate entity from NOi!SE and had an identity all its own, it offers an extraordinary insight into these two fantastic songwriters in a raw, stripped down setting outside of their normal comfort zone, with bare chords and strong voices carrying the songs.

It makes an interesting companion piece to NOi!SE's 2020 EP Welcome To Tacoma, which featured stripped down arrangements of songs the band had already performed at full volume. The difference is that the songs on the Stadium Way EP were written with then intention of being performed acoustic.

Still, that doesn't mean they all stayed that way...ineed, "Ever Afraid," one of the highlights of NOi!SE's extraordinary new LP Fate of the Union began life on this EP.

"Ever Afraid is originally a song featured on the Stadium Way acoustic project 7” Kenny and I did years ago. As a joke, we messed around with a punk/ HC version of it at practice one night and actually loved the way it came out," says Matt. "When the guys sent me the first demos for Fate of the Union, I saw that it was listed as a track and thought it was a mistake. It wasn’t. I like both versions, but I will always favor the acoustic because it was the very first thing I wrote when I decided to an acoustic project."

On Tuesday nights, we celebrate by giving some of the incredible vinyl from Pirates Press a spin on our decks here at PPHQ! Let's look at what we were spinning last night!

We are so excited for True Nothing, the upcoming LP DeeCRACKS, who recently launched pre-orders along with the first single & video for "Revenge." But while we are still waiting for the new record to be pressed, we dug into the Pirates Press Records archives to give these awesome pressings from DeeCRACKS' back catalog another spin!

Seen here are the latest pressing of the band's 2018 LP Sonic Delusions on Yellow & Red Butterfly Vinyl with Black & Orange Splatter! This second pressing of the album has a matching red jacket, updated from the blue of the first pressing! We also busted out 2021's Serious Issues on Sea Blue Vinyl!

Both of these pressings are available from the PPR webstore, along with pre-orders of True Nothing, which will be available everywhere on October 23, 2026! Check 'em out!

On Tuesday nights, we celebrate by giving some of the incredible vinyl from Pirates Press a spin on our decks here at PPHQ!

Last night we were spinning the brand new split 7" from Laramie, Wyoming’s Teenage Bottlerocket & Portsmouth, New Hampshire’s thequeersofficial, which is hit the streets this past weekend! Inarguably two of the most popular and influential pop-punk bands of their respective generations, this highly anticipated split features each band putting their spin on one of the other's signature songs!

Seen here is the Pirates Press Records exclusive 7" Orange Crush Vinyl! 7" Milky Clear vinyl is available from our friends at Rad Girlfriend Records, while a limited variant on 7” Blue & Orange Half-n-Half Vinyl w/ Black Splatter is available exclusively from the bands at live shows!

The record jacket also features artwork for each band on opposite sides!
