Build complete! Got to take .does_stuff ‘s build out for some shots in the snow before it all melts. This thing turned out incredible & im so excited to get it into his hands!

Exploded view of .does_stuff ‘s Jenova before assembly! So good to see this one coming together at last. We decided to go for an ultra-classy theme on this one, complete with zebra pickups & full gunmetal hardware. Wild how much the top’s flame changes depending on what direction light hits it from!

What a delight this year’s NAMM was! 2024 was honestly a pretty s**t year for me personally & I had very little time or energy to put into Mobius. To come to the show & see how much enthusiasm remains for my guitars was nothing short of heartwarming. Thank you.

Huge props to everyone in these photos for giving the Jenova some love! I was kicking myself every day for not getting enough photos & yeah, I never got better with that haha. It was so great to meet , , , , , and catch up with , , , , ._.torres , .

Let’s get caught up on this build, eh? Knocked out the headstock & electronic cavity cover inlay work with the Origin. A bit different vibe for this one, using a sheet of the ivoroid binding material I use from . Looks pretty clean if you ask me! Then, always satisfying, the final glue up of the build, the fretboard! Home stretch!

Not exactly Mobius related, but I’m way too excited for this silly project to not post it. I recently came upon a 2005 ESP Eclipse, a guitar I’ve wanted forever. This specific guitar was originally fitted with the Seymour Duncan passive pickup option, a JB/Jazz set. Previous owner wasn’t thrilled with them & installed some Fluence Moderns. I’m not thrilled with those, so I’m taking it back to basics!
Thing is, there are SO many possible EMG setups now! Back in my EMG days, I was an 85 in the bridge guy. Lucky for me, EMG’s are so cheap on the used market now, I just bought all of them to test out! Up for testing:
81, 85 & 60 to run at 9, 18 & 24v
81x & 85x
57 / 66 set.

I have my predictions of what I may & may not like, but we’ll see!

Gotta love seeing a project come together. This summer has been a rough one, but being able to come back & focus on a build has been really nice. This 7 string Jenova for .does_stuff will be a special one!

Obligatory NAMM summary post!
This year was actually pretty sick. Dare I say, better than expected.
It was an incredible surprise to have one of my builds at the booth. That thing is around four years old, has traveled the world & plays it into the ground, yet it was still somehow show-ready! Huge thanks again to those dudes for letting my stuff infiltrate their turf!
Aside from that, it was really incredible to just see a lot of faces I hadn’t seen since the pandemic. A lot that didn’t make it into photos, I’ll try to do better next year! I am incredibly lucky to have found this small but amazing segment of the music industry. Time to dive back in & build some guitars!

To my surprise and delight, I will have a guitar at NAMM! Check out shred his Jenova at the booth! Word has it the guitar will be out the rest of the day as well, go check it out with some of the rad stuff Aviate is doing! I’ll also be cruising the floor today & Saturday, come say hi!
