WVFA 90.5 FM We're the Valley's Fresh Alternative!

05/16/2025

We have finally installed the new audio link between our studio and transmitter. Already there have been some improvements in audio quality and of course it was the only choice we had to get an audio signal to the top of the mountain. We are still tweaking to get better volume and dynamic range; you may hear two seconds of silence if we need to reset the equipment after an adjustment. We still need financial assistance from our listeners and underwriters with the monthly fees (which skyrocketed up to $3000 a month somehow). This price hike was even after we removed the telephone company's obsolete equipment from the audio chain and informed them of the cancellation. That will be a one time expense once it is taken care of.

ALSO

WVFA has a way to receive tax-deductible donations, if that has been a hindrance to our donors ability to give to support the operations of the station. If you are inclined to make a donation and would like an IRS approved tax deduction, please make your check out to Upper Valley Christian Communications Fellowship (a similar 501(c)3 compliant organization which supports Christian radio stations in a manner akin to GMEF) instead of Green Mountain Educational Fellowship, but continue to send donations to GMEF's mailing address of

PO Box 126
Hartford, VT 05047

Please include the name of the taxpayer who will be receiving the deduction, we are required to use that name when preparing a giving receipt. All funds sent to UVCCF in this manner will be used for WVFA operational expenses.

No Resurrection week would be complete without some awesome children's programming and audio dramas which immerse you in the happenings in and around Jerusalem! This week, airing at 90.5FM in the Upper Valley of VT/NH, we have the following offerings:

Friday 9AM to Noon: A marathon session of the audio drama "Titus: A Comrade of the Cross" written by Florence Morse Kingsley, and originally produced as an audio drama by Lamplighter Theatre.
Follow Titus as his life intersects with the final week in the earthly life of Jesus in ever more profound ways.

Saturday 10AM to Noon: "Adventures In Odyssey" Follow along with Whit and friends as his time machine accidentally dumps his young charges right into Jerusalem during Passover week 1,996 years ago!

Saturday 9PM "The Passover" not your typical children's programming but an interesting look at the Passover itself with dramatic narration from the perspective of both ancient and more modern families.

Sunday 1PM to 3PM A marathon session of "You are There for the Resurrection of Jesus" produced by Lamplighter Theatre, with the goal to make you feel... like you are there!

Very hard hitting, insightful news program to be aired at 4 PM this afternoon on 90.5FM in the Upper Valley. John Parsons interviews actual relief workers on the ground (and in the air) in North Carolina. Also: ways to donate directly to pilots ferrying relief supplies into the hardest hit areas.

WVFA 90.5 humbly requests your prayers for the people impacted in these states and also offer for your consideration the following Christian charitable organizations which we know will be operating in the South over the coming months to bring restoration:

Samaritan's Purse
Convoy of Hope
World Vision

Hey WVFA listeners and potential listeners, please feel free to join us 2PM this afternoon at our studio at 48 Wescott Rd in Enfield, NH for a 20th Anniversary open house! We would like to show you the studio where our content is broadcast from and increase listener awareness of our offerings!

WVFA is pleased to announce that as of February 6th, we have reached our 20th anniversary of being on the air! We are grateful for support from those who have stood by us over the past twenty years, and for our listeners who enjoy our air product. We would like to continue broadcasting until Christ's return if it is possible! For that we need at least four things:

1. Prayer support - it is truly a miracle that we are still on the air and our equipment works as well as it does: this can only be attributed to God's supernatural intervention.

2. Financial support - it costs about $2000 a month to run the station, and while we are very frugal with the donations entrusted to us, sometimes the budget runs a little close. Also, we have in the past foregone opportunities to increase the range of our signal because the money did not materialize - we have entire unreached cities to the south of us because we were unable to purchase appropriate equipment. Cities which desperately need to hear about the life-changing work of Jesus on the cross.

3. Volunteers - In order to maintain our professional sound and expand our program roster, we could use volunteers who know broadcasting technique or would like to learn. Nobody on staff at WVFA receives a salary, but it is a wonderful learning experience.

4. Perhaps most importantly, we need you to tune in! Listeners are, of course, the core reason for our being. And we want you to encounter the God of the Bible through our ministry programs and extremely broad Christian music offerings. Simply tune your FM radio to 90.5 megahertz in our coverage area for a radio experience unlike any other in the area.

Earlier this week, our General Manager William Wittik found out that the cost of a 30-second spot on tonight's Superbowl would be $7 million! We thought it would be interesting to compare that to our own station's much more modest budget. Based on the advertisement-to-content ratio for tonight's football experience, we estimate that this $7 million dollars will fund 3 minutes of content for viewers.

WVFA on the other hand will broadcast three minutes of God honoring, belief-affirming, life-changing audio signal to the Upper Valley for only twelve cents.

Won't you join us in listening to 90.5 on your FM dial to have an encounter with God?

Some people say we are comparing apples to oranges, since the game tonight will reach over a 100 million viewers. But if you are in the Upper Valley and tune us in on your car radio you could be joining in with 80,000 other potential listeners in our service area who want to honor God and learn more about what He's doing in our lives.

And if you are inspired to donate 12 cents to fund 3 of our minutes, $12 to fund 5 hours, or $1200 to fund 3 weeks of programming, we would be tremendously grateful, and so would those whose lives will be impacted by the Gospel.
