IGACOS MAYOR SEEKS IDENTITY OF MAN IN VIRAL TOURIST VIDEO

Mayor Lemuel “Toto” Reyes of the Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos) is seeking help to identify a man who appeared in a viral vlog showing a foreign tourist’s unsettling experience on Samal Island, Davao del Norte.

The vlog, titled “Sometimes It's NOT Always Fun in The Philippines! | Samal Island 🇵🇭,” was posted by Josh, a travel vlogger from England, on his channel The Journey of Josh. It shows him recounting encounters with a local man who allegedly used offensive Bisaya language, asked money, and made threatening remarks.

Reyes urged anyone who knows the man to report directly to the city office. “Ug kinsa man nakaila aning tawhana palihug paadtoa ug opisina ayaw hulata nga ako mag papangita sa imoha,” he wrote, asking for immediate assistance.

The video and post have raised concern among residents and online viewers, highlighting interactions between locals and tourists in the area. Authorities have not yet provided updates on any investigation or formal complaints regarding the incident.
