🚨 INTERNATIONAL SCAM INVESTIGATION — ENGLEWOOD PD ASSISTS IN CASE LEADING TO ARRESTS IN THAILAND 🚨

Englewood Police Department detectives recently assisted federal and international partners in uncovering a complex fraud scheme that targeted a victim here in the Denver metro area.
What began as a single report from an Englewood resident about a suspicious payment demand quickly evolved into the discovery of a global scam operation. The victim had been tricked into sending large wire transfers to individuals posing as representatives from a major financial service.

Working closely with U.S. federal law enforcement, investigators traced the flow of funds overseas, ultimately identifying a Thai–Indian fraud network operating through a newly created shell company in Bangkok. The suspects used the company to launder money and purchase gold that was then shipped abroad.
Thanks to coordinated investigative efforts, Thai authorities have so far arrested two suspects, seized evidence, and disrupted the international operation responsible for defrauding victims worldwide. The investigation continues to grow, and more arrests are expected.

This case is a strong reminder:
✔️ If you receive unexpected payment demands—especially involving cryptocurrency—stop and verify.
✔️ Contact us immediately if something feels off. Document the interaction with the scammers, including any account numbers they ask you to send money to. Early reporting and documentation by the victim made a difference in this case.
✔️ We are committed to protecting our community, whether the threat is local or global.

Englewood Police Department will continue to work side-by-side with our national and international partners to keep Englewood residents safe from evolving cyber-crime threats.

On this day in history......19 Oct 1994 – Honorary Special Forces LTC Martha Raye died.

During the Vietnam War, she was made an honorary Green Beret because she visited United States Army Special Forces in Vietnam, and she helped out when things got bad in Special Forces A-Camps. Because of those actions, she came to be known affectionately by the Green Berets as "Colonel Maggie." She continued her relationship with the Green Berets for the rest of her life. She built a guest house for Green Berets on the grounds of her home in Los Angeles and made many trips to Fort Bragg and other Special Forces Posts throughout her life. In 1988, the Special Forces Association Convention held in Fayetteville, NC carried the theme of "Honoring COL Maggie".

Maggie died of pneumonia on October 19, 1994, after a long history of cardiovascular disease. Martha Raye was 78 years of age, and residing in Los Angeles at the time of her death.

On November 2, 1993, Martha Raye was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, by President Bill Clinton, for her service to her country.

🚨 HOLY SMOKES! Sen. John Fetterman just LIT UP his fellow Democrats after they accused him of “bending the knee” for having dinner with President Trump.

Fetterman didn’t hold back:
“It’s not about BENDING a knee, it’s about having a conversation with the president! We HAVE to work together.”

He doubled down when asked if he regretted it:
“It was a great conversation. Why WOULDN’T the senator of the state that carried him in the election? He invited. Absolutely.”

Then he delivered the knockout line:
“I’m not sure why anyone would find that controversial.”

🔥 Fetterman just said what every Democrat used to believe before Trump broke them — working with the President isn’t betrayal, it’s leadership.

The obvious disqualifier is that Denver government is fiscally irresponsible and has no business getting deeper in debt.

Thank you Ann for posting an honest evaluation of what the recalled council is proposing to inflict on our city. CodeNext is just another example of the trend in our country to turn wonderful cities into lab tests for social re-engineering and decay. Joe Anderson's mentor in this effort is a person that touts the efforts that have been put forth in Portland. Really do we want to end up like Portland... or Denver... or San Francisco... (fill in the blank), because that is what they have in mind for our great city.
