📚Sunday Shelfie + Currently Reading

My ebook advanced reader copy of Dearly Departed by Chip Pons is full of highlights. It’s eloquent, so beautifully written with poignant phases.

I love it and have already preordered my paperback so I can transfer my highlights to tabs.

I’m immersed in a world that’s small town romance with a touch of Greek mythology with a man who is sunshine personified & another man who’s a shadow daddy. 👀

I’d been in a bit of a book slump and Dearly Departed has shown me it’s not me. It’s reminding me why I love reading & bringing me such joy.

🥂 Cheers - Summer Break ☀️

Soaking in the last quiet moments before school is out for the summer. For my kids and I it looks like lots of library visits (obviously), pool time, a few science and art camps, camping and some travel.

☔️ Rainy Day Reading 🎧

Thank you for my gifted audiobook of The Book Witch by Meg Shaffer!

I’d seen this book all over and EVERYONE has LOVED it. That just never happens. So I went into this book pretty blind. I am loving the new to me narrator - Mia Hutchinson-Shaw. I will let you know how it goes but I’m enjoying it so much.

I’m a true millennial and love keeping boxes. This one is so pretty. I love the book mail words with all the keys 😍

Do you also love a good box? Or does it not matter how the books arrive? Usually it doesn’t matter to me but throwing out (recycling ♻️ ) beautiful sturdy boxes isn’t in my repertoire.

Sunday Shelfie & Happy Mother’s Day 🪻

I got to read the epilogue and finish Mistakes Were Made by Lucy Score, while drinking my tea this morning. My kids helped my husband wash my car so my Mother’s Day is going great. I got to plant my plants in the raised garden beds. Colorado has an unofficial hold until Mother’s Day to plant outside due to the threat of snow & freezes. So the plants on slide two are all plants I’ve grown inside from seeds (except the pink flower in the front). Grow little baby plants! 🪴

I hope you have a wonderful day. If your own mom wasn’t supportive or anything complicated I hope you know that you get to choose who gets access to your light.

My mom is amazing but her mom was not and I think of her trying to better and love harder because of that experience. A rambling way to say I believe in you even if today is hard.

If you are celebrating Mother’s Day I hope it’s great. If it’s just a regular Sunday enjoy it. Are you in the Sunday scaries yet or is your day full of wonder and possibilities still?

Fourth Wing Night at the Rockies ⚾️

This past Saturday, before this week’s snowstorm, there was a very special event in Denver. The Rockies held a Fourth Wing themed night. I took my daughter, her best friend and mom. It was so much fun to show my mini how many people came together for the love of books. Such a fun way to show that the love of books brings people together.

Colorado Book Besties were out in force. I love these women. .reads.books a few others who I can’t remember handles but have phone numbers for 🫣

We met up in the Co bana, which was great ‘cause there was no line for beverages and we got to chat while sitting on patio furniture. We all assumed our seats were far from each other but when we sat down we were all pretty close.

I’m loving my Sorrengail jersey. I think I might have a size adult medium that could use a good home. Tell me how I should find that home below. I need all the ideas.
