Christmas in the Park 2025 RESCHEDULED

Due to forecasted low temperatures expected to reach around 15 degrees Fahrenheit, with wind chills down in the single digits on Saturday, December 13, the City of Enid Parks and Recreation Department has rescheduled the annual “Christmas in the Park” to Saturday, December 20, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Meadowlake Park.

Featured crafts and activities include cookie decorating, ornament making, reindeer food, snowball shooters, picture frames, color-your-own puzzles, and letters to Santa. Complimentary hot chocolate and apple cider will also be available.

This family-friendly event is free for all ages. The Enid Kiwanis Club will operate the carousel, toddler cars/airplanes, Ferris Wheel, and Santa Train for a small fee of $1–$2 per ride, per person.

Meadowlake Park is located at 1200 West Rupe Avenue, Enid, OK 73701. For more info on the events, go to: Enid.org/Christmas In The Park.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation INVESTIGATES OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING IN MOORELAND

MOORELAND, OK – On December 9, 2025, the District 26 District Attorney’s Office requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate an officer-involved shooting.
At approximately 5:12 p.m., deputies with the Woodward County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Mooreland Police Department responded to a call of a reckless driver approximately one mile east of Mooreland on Highway 412.
When officers arrived on scene, they discovered the vehicle stuck in a ditch along the side of the highway.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 43-year-old Robert Thompson. While law enforcement on scene attempted to make contact with Thompson, he produced a firearm and fired his weapon towards officers, resulting in an officer-involved shooting.
Officers and deputies provided life-saving measures to Thompson; however, he was pronounced deceased on scene.
There were no other injuries during the altercation and this is still an ongoing investigation.
The OSBI appreciates the Mooreland Police Department and Woodward County Sheriff’s Office for their continued assistance with this investigation.

We are "Protecting Oklahoma one Partnership at a time.”
